    Legend  69.81

I just scored -2 on a ranked round started at 69.81 and after the average did not change anybody know why?   Do I have to start doing better than -2 now to reduce average?

We analyzed your scores and it looks like you shot a 33 then a 36 which probably caused your score to lower then raise again. It can also take time for scores to update properly. You're going to have to consistently shoot -2 for  your score to actually lower. Welcome to the climb my friend :)

Please make sure to cite a result from a course counting towards the average and name the gross score - plus/minus scores are irrelevant when it comes to the average.

Me thinks you talk about your 34 at CHB. This translates to 68 for the average, differing -1.8 from your current average.

OTOH, the outcome depends on the number of Legend scores counting in. Do you know if your average is saturated with more than 500 scores? Did your recent 36 move the average?

    Examples:

200 scores would result in approx. -1.8/200 = -.009 average change which would most likely be visible.

For 300+ scores, the change would be less than -1.8/300 = -.006 with a good chance to be invisible due to rounding.

For a saturated average, there's no prediction possible because of the nonlinear nature of the calculation. Also, the denominator would be 500, leaving only -.0036 from the above difference. Average steps become very-very small for Legends!

Last but not least, your CC will fare well even if you don't buy CC passes ;)

    -2 is not your score.

-2 means 2 strokes less than the par for whatever 9 or 18 you just played. To calculate your average WGT doubles your 9 hole score.

    So, -2 on a par 70(35) course means a score of 68(33 x 2 = 66).

    -2 on a par of 7(35) course means a score of 69(33 x 2 = 66).

    -2 on a par 71(36) course means a score of 69(34 x 2 = 68).

    -2 on a par 72(36) course means a score of 70(35 x 2 = 70).

How much your stroke average can change is directly related to the par of each game play.
