  QF match for Mauro and myself.

  A close game that went either way as you can see on the scorecard. Mauro got so unlucky with putts that just slid past the hole. He hit some great iron shots into greens, into about 3 feet on the 1st, which was a great shot. But fortunately for myself I was able to come back.

  Thanks Mauro. By watching your play I can see why you got into the latter stages of this tourney.

  Quarter Final stage is gone, and now is time to look at the four brave players came to the latter stages of the Italian Invitational.

  Semifinals

  ryan4spurs vs coolswing: Vic scored a clear tourney so far, but rising-to-the-top Ryan looks ready to put a spoke in his wheels.

  PRIESTESS vs frealzu: The Mannari Vengeance. Will be Antonello able to revenge his captain, Bidi, beaten by the WGA Champ in the R/R stage?

  Bethpage Back 9 got the answers for both matches. Good luck to everyone!

  SF result for myself and Vic.

  I think I caught Vic at a lucky time for myself. Vic's putter was ice cold all round and I managed to birdie 12 and hole a downhill 30footer on 14 for another bird. Vic played a  very nice hole 15 after I drove the right side rough to pull a hole back, but on 16 a 17mph right to left wind carried his drive into the 2nd cut of rough.

  2 up with 2 to play I proceed to stick it in a bunker on 17 before Vic played a majestic shot to under 7feet to pull a hole pack. Moving onto 18, both drives almost identical to about 76yds. I came up 4yds short and Vic 3yds long. My 11 foot putt with a grid showing movement every way turned out to be pretty much straight and went in for a birdie to close the match.

  Thanks for the game Vic, I'm sure next time all of those super close putts of yours will be super holed putts.

  Congrats to Ryan for a well played match and for making it to the final of this excellent tourney !

  Ryan certainly deserved a lot of credits for his fine play in the high wind and even though he too had his fair share of bad luck with the putting, he managed to make some very good putts under pressure as well.  On the other hand I played pretty average today and the putting was just a nightmare so really i was lucky not to get blasted off the course by Ryan !  Thanks to Ryan for a good match and I wish him all the best in the final where I think he'd be a very hard cookie to crack ! :-)

  I'd also like to take this opportunity to say a BIG special thanks to Luciano and Simo for a fantastic tournament, I love your work and appreciate all the time and effort you've put in so we can all have fun and enjoy the games.  I've had a huge time here among all the good friends, especially with all the Italian friends who I'd like to thanks again for their wonderful hospitality as well as their great sportsmanship and generosity.  I can say now that I really have some thing to look forward to when ever my WGA Tour ends ! lol ! :-)

  Finally I'd like to thanks all the players that i've played with and also wish the players remaining in this tourney all the best in their attempt to take out the title.  I hope to see you all again next time ! :-))

  Semi Final with freazlu.

  I birdied 11 12 13 14 to gain a 3 hole advantage,Freazlu took 15 18 wind against, and i managed to hold on for the win,Ive never seen wind as tough as this at BP before,Antonello didnt play his game today,But we all know how incredible he can be,Tess wins2and 1

  Congratulations to the finalists Tessie and Ryan, and Vic and Antonelli consolation winners!!!  The Italian Invitational is proven to be an event worth playing in, very well organized and handled, Thanks Luciano and the members of the Italian Golf and Country Club!
