Was just stating a reason for leaving.

And that's how the majority (I think) took your post. and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I'm sure if you even hinted, you couldn't live without WGT, but you just can't afford playing, your bag would've been filled by now.

You seem like someone, who has his act together, knows what he wants and isn't afraid to simply say it. Kudos and have fun, whatever you do.

P.S.: Just wanted the first judgement of your latest post to be a positive one, judging by recent past, some other won't be, lol.

Fully agree with this ^^^. I think most of us found a public goodbye just a bit odd, given his admitted lack of interaction with others. He addressed this by saying this is how it's done in another forum...but I'm assuming those folks at least know the person who is leaving?

I think a good takeaway for everyone is this: If you are going to post publicly, and are not well known, perhaps a bit of context would be a good thing. The OP's latest post was far better than the first, in this regard.

The thread did veer off line...they all do.

Regardless, I will once again wish the OP the best of luck moving forward.:)

ps: IMHO, none of the "regulars" were offended...just a bit confused.

Ironically, Canada has long dispensed with the one cent coin. Our lowest currency denomination is the nickel.

Given it costs more to produce a penny than its' face value, I suspect the US will eventually follow suit.

    ct

how then could we in the US sell everything for ??.99 ? hmmmm.  my nickle and everyone else's.

In Canada, we round everything. For example, if an item is $2.98, then it's 3 bucks. If it's $2.97, then we pay $2.95

Nickels have become the new pennies...da missus has a change purse full of them...oi vey

My personal situation is just fine. Retired professional Firefighter/EMT after 30 years of service. In fact, I now work at a local golf course near my home.

All in all folks, the original was a simple goodbye. But my lesson learned was that's not how things are done on the WGT forums.

    Take care

    Thanks George, and good luck!

Until now a couple of people made this thread more about them than you, somehow their benchmark as to the quality of a mans life comes down to how well he plays this game, I would assume because they have never really accomplished anything in real life that even come close to being good at playing a "game", very sad!

So before I turn the podium over to those who need fire their last rounds attempting to save face, Good Luck to you, and thank you for 30yrs of Public Service, your a Champion regardless of what tees you play from!`

    Excellent post Dan.

And excellent post by George too. As I said in my original post, thanks for your service.

And to all you naysayers...never mind. The above two posts just invalidated everything you said.

    he did mention

"We have people post up farewells all the time on that forum. Sold car, totalled it, tired of the forum are all reasons given. The members usually just wish them well and that's it. "

You are correct Razza...and if that is the norm in that forum, then so be it. But each forum has its own rhythm. Maybe they don't know each other in the auto forum, maybe they do. For the purposes of this forum, I merely suggested it would be helpful to provide context.
