I am looking to buy a new iron set. I rented the NIKE Vapor Fly Pro Iron Set (L52+) and really liked them. I'm level 53 now but I can wait to get to a little higher level if need be. I just want to be able to ditch my hybrid to allow for a 3rd wedge. Then I'll look at wedges but for now I need irons that are long and accurate. Any suggestions???

Most people (me included)  would advise you to wait for level 59 and buy the Ping G25's.  They have been the game changer for players for a long time.  While they have a little less forgiveness, they are high trajectory compare to the medium trajectory of the Nikes.  Makes a hugh difference due to a softer landing = less roll out.  They are also 400 credits cheaper.  lvl 59 is around 88K to 89K XP points.

If you  do a Forum search on the Ping lvl 59 irons, you will find may threads regarding the recommendation of those irons.  I would at least wait until I reached that level.  You may have a chance for a 2 hour free rental of them to try them first.  I used them until I reached lvl 85 and could buy the Nike's.

    Hope this helps.

You can do that now. If you're worried about the gap between your 3i and the 3W, punching the 3W helps. You'll use that wedge now, way more than you do that HB. FWIW, from shorter tees you really don't need the HB, anyway.

I'll do some testing. The main use I have for the hybrid is getting out the rough from 180+yds out. Idk if a punch 3wd would do the same.

I read about the G25's in my search on this topic but was lead to think they were for lvl 80 or 90+. Thanks.

I believe what I have listed below are the correct numbers.

    3 iron: 210

    4 iron: 200

    5 iron: 190

    6 iron: 175

    7 iron: 160

    8 iron: 145

    9 iron: 130

    PW: 115

With better irons you don't need to use your hybrid out of the rough. Just use the punch and easily get out of normal rough. The better irons will even get you out of the worst stuff if you don't get greedy.  Don't think miracles out of the heavier rough not even with a hybrid.

That's what I was getting at. Better, longer irons is what I need to ditch the hyb and get another wedge. Like Robert displayed, the 3i of the G25's goes 210 and that's what my hybrid hits. My 3i goes 195. Hence the reason I'll NEED and WANT a 3rd wedge after getting the longer distance and higher trajectory of the G25's. I think........ LOL.

    Thanks all!
