I realize that the method that is currently used in evaluating your average is to deter sandbagging. However, once a player has achieved legend status, really, that goes out the window.
Using a weighted moving average and the course difficulty factor (slope) as a term to calculate your average would be more appropriate.
Secondly, to compliment the average would be to evaluate the stats accordingly. Obviously in would not be weighted.
I realize alot of the award numbers are accumulative and those values can be kept separate.
Since WGT obviously maintains alot of rounds in its database, perhaps using a filter method to determine stats for the last 300 rounds would be easy to implement. If not, perhaps resetting the stats once a year at your yearly anniversary would be appropriate.
Just a thought.
