OK, so I am a lvl 67 and have decided to go with TaylorMade ATV Wedges. I own the ATV 64 (L39+). So I need two more to replace my Gorges.  I own the the ping G25 iron set (L59+). Here is what I was looking at getting:

ATV TaylorMade 60 and 54 wedges - both (L64+). The 60 hits 90 yards and the 54 hits 110 yards.

Would that compliment well with my irons and ATV 64 wedge?

Please suggest what you think would be best.

    Thanks,

    Tyron

Look at the nominal lengths, including the punches. Most advice is to arrange for three custom wedges with a regular spacing below the PW there, dropping the hybrid (or the 3WD as some say).

The 64° plays 41+50 yds. The 60° will have some 70+ yds punch to complement the 90 yds. Me thinks that the gap is too big!

OTOH, the G25 PW is 115 yds, punches ?about 100 yds?. A 110 yds wedge seems by far too close and overlapping. (The L83 G25 PW is only 110/94 yds BTW).

So, you better consider some wedges spacing between 50 and 100 or even 50/(70)/90.

I'd keep the ATV, it's a great club, and I got me 50 - 75 - 100 yds. The longer the club, the better it should be, as they tend to show more roll (e.g. the longer L39 ATVs), and we want to nail the shots!

And don't worry about different brands, they all have similar meter speeds.

My 3 ATV wedges are 50, 75, 100 yds, my PW is 120yds. This set up suits me perfectly.

X2 Paul, and including punches which are 42- 62- and 83 for the wedges, then 103 for the PW, the spacing allows for using that all important 90% plus power on all shots.

    @ Tyron

I like the higher level ATV's which I use but not the lower levels.  Their gaps don't work well.  I'd switch to either all Clevelands at level 27:  56, 60, 64 or pick up the Max Spin Level 50s:  56, 60, 64.

    ATV L64+ 54w :

    Full - 110 yds.

    Punch- 91 yds

    Flops- 43 yds

    Pitch- 36 yds

    Chip - 19 yds

I still have it and use it sometimes depending on the course . The olny thing I dont like about it is the excessive roll out that I sometimes get with the punch and flop shots . As Alosso stated most use the rule of starting with the pw and work backward spacing wedges 20 -25 yards apart .
