    K7JBQ:
For some reason, you tend to score better when you hit from the short grass.

    MainzMan:
Would that be Old Bertha by any chance?  I heard they were sold with a free backpack, compass and pair of hiking boots for a while due to the excessive amount of time golfers were spending hiking around in the rough.

That's the one. I hit some great shots with that club... and I hit some awful ones with it as well. Finally, gave up on it.

From some random google article with a rory interview:

Rory's numbers with his driver: 329 yards total, 297 yards carry, 116.5 mph clubhead speed. 176 mph ball speed. 10.9-degree launch.

Rory's numbers with his 3-wood: 310 yards total, 281 yards carry, 112 mph clubhead speed, 9-degrees of launch, 2,400 RPM spin.

If anything we need longer 3 Woods in this game... I can get a 297 yard drive carry with a bit of a tailwind and luck but no chance I can get a 281 3WD  carry.

Not to mention most pros can hit a 240 2 or 3 iron. Something we don't have.

    BMX123:

Ball distances in this game are suspect along with the drivers. My opinion is this "The top ball and the top driver go the longest" and this distance would be longer than we are reaching now.

Not necessarily. It depends a lot on how you hit it.

L96 Nike ball already has a very high trajectory and a lot of spin. The spin on the ball will cut distance before you know it.

I suggest you try NO-SPIN in head winds and not more than 25-33% BS on tail winds for normal tee shots. Of course you need to improvise if you have to hit over a tree or at St.A, it's mostly top spin.

It's a level playing field. Be it any driver. And WGT and PGA are 2 different things. They have made it as realistic as it gets on a computer.

Have you compared your WGT driving distance with your own real golf driving stats?

To improve our game on WGT, we need to work on the short game. Unless you are suggesting a driver to get you to the green on every drive.

So do you think we need longer drivers? Is that what you're saying?.........

I love my M1 driver, wouldn't change it.

The thing is, who wants a driver that puts you within a wedge shot on every hole. You need to learn to use all the tools in your bag to improve your game. I'm struggling with new irons ATM but I'll persevere until I get them sussed out.

Same with wedges. I see all the time that I should have 3 wedges. My PW goes 125 and steps down to 112.5 and 100 withoout problem. That drops me into my 90 yard sand wedge going 81 72 and 63, that leads me into my 60 yard wedge. I could invest in a 100 or 80 wedge, but why?
