The world cup of golf 2017
hello all
welcome to the world cup 2017,
this is gonna be a fantastic 6 months for all of us,my aim was to get more teams in and make it bigger than last year and boy have I done it in style.
We have 32 squads with 12 players from different clubs,that’s 384 players in total from all over the world,
8 players will playing each group match,there are 4 groups of 8 teams and the top 4 from each group will go through to the knockout stages but that’s a long way off yet,
They have 7 matches in the group over 3 different formats matchplay,strokeplay and stableford.
we have some of the top clubs involved this year and im glad cosa nostra are here to defend their title and try to retain the cup,its gonna take some great golf to take it off them after seeing some posts and talking to yankee jim their cc manager,
This is my first comp with southern England links and looking at our sides,we will be pushing to get our teams into the knockout stages and possibly our A team will make it to the final stages and maybe win it,im sure jim will have something to say against that lol,
Ive managed to attract some big names into it this year who regularly top the wgt leaderboards and its nice that they will give the chance for other players and perhaps lower tiers a chance to play against them,
I wanted to find the best club team on wgt beating opponents over different formats and this year I think we will find them with the talent ive seen sent over to me,
I have drafted a couple of friends to help me this year,they are gonna help with setting up matches,pairing up the players and filling in the tables,so between us we wont miss anything,if im not around,you can always contact them if you need to know anything,

All matches are on page 1 of this forum
Tables will updated weekly but allow for a few days to catch up with results,
RULES
Concessions must be agreed before start,
if level after 18 it will be classed as a draw,you can play on but only for bragging rites lol,
any player with a -2 by their name must concede holes 4 and 15
any player with -3 by their name must concede holes 4,9 and 15
all matches must be completed by due date or will be classed as void 0 points,no excuses want to keep the comp going.
If any player changes tier before he plays his match,he must play as the new tier,
Always check you playing partners tier before start of play,
No focus boosts will be allowed during matches. Use of this tool will lead to a disqualification
Arrangement rules are in the information forum please read them
Players if any problems arranging matches,contact your captain asap and he will contact the other captain so they can sort it,I don’t really want to get involved if I don’t have to but if you need a ruling contact me
PLAYER 1 get those invites sent out as early as possible
PLAYER 2 get times and dates back so both of you can find a suitable day to play,
remember the time zones and make it ok for both of you to play the match,
Captains can you send me weekly reports please and il update tables day after close of play
I cant do this without your help
Keep me updated on any tier changes because it will affect the handicap
I know from last year that the chances of 100% completion are slim and we only managed it a couple of rounds last year but this comp will not stop and any games for whatever reason not played will be void,
What I don’t want is any negative remarks or bad feedback from any players,if you have a problem,see your captain and he/she can contact the other captain to resolve the issue,
I don’t want to get involved unless I have to,we are all adults so please act like one,
The main thing to remember it’s a game and a chance to make some new friends win or lose,
Go in with this attitude and you will enjoy it,that’s the main reason why I put myself through this torture lol.
