Wow! Can't believe this thread has gone so long without anyone stating the old song about high winds.

If everyone got the same wind for all the holes, that would be fine, but as long as that isn't the case, high winds are inherently unfair, especially in SP.

Great fun to not be able to reach the fairway, when the next guy up has a wedge in.

    There. That job is done.

    :^)

i take it you have never watched the open then where those teeing off in the morning can have totally different weather to those teeing off in the afternoon

I take it that you've never read statements about how "unfair" that was to one group (either the morning or afternoon group) or that luck then played a factor in the outcome?

Come play Golf in Texas in the Spring. Then get back to me about 25-30 mph winds being unrealistic.

Golf is hard, even sometimes on the virtual fairways.

It is what it is. Deal with them or pass them by.

I read  many comments referring to the real time of golf.  Wgt is a simulation and I think the simulation of high winds is not realistic.  It's a game and wgt should do a better job of programming the wind.  In real golf, if I look  outside and see that it is very windy,  I will wait for a nicer day.  We are not pro's playing in Scotland which can have high winds.  We are amateurs.  I think the wgt programming of wind is not accurate..it should be improved.

This is an old post Jay. Try using an onscreen ruler. I have one from the chrome web store called edge web ruler. Remember that blue aim box is 10' wide and the arrow in the center is 5'. You can keep it on top and drag it down when you need it.

Fascinating. A simulation is not realistic.

Maybe, but how many amateurs have statistics like yours......or even professionals for that matter. Every day on WGT is a nice day, just some days are windier than others :)) It is one of the few variables that can make the game a little harder, and it is needed. The fact is, there is no real wind variance, no swirling effect (VEM excluded lol). The top players play equally well in high winds as in low winds..........the only variable is the unfair winds as pointed out.
