Winds 29-30 mph

  29-30 mph winds, that's a very narrow range.

  If the OP plays well outside of that range then maybe it could be WGT manipulation? ;)

  IRL if I had avoided winds like that, I would only have got to play a few times a year!

  Hi Paul

  could you please give me some tips on using high trajectory irons in high winds.

  ATM if the xwind is say 20 mph from the left I can get close to the pin by aiming 20 yards left of it.

  This doesn't seem to work in higher winds, the other day I had a 30mph crosswind (RSG) Aimed 30 yards left of the pin, and the ball landed 30 yards right of the pin. All very confusing

  Real games are often played in the elements. American football has witnessed games played in driving snowstorms and temperatures below 0.( Lambeau Field still has no empty seats on these kinds of days.)  No doubt game plans are not the same for these kinds of conditions. Change your expectations and your game plan if the wind is up. You are playing in the same conditions as every other player. Just be thankful that the WGT does not include rain where you might lose your grip and really sloppy and slow greens which do happen in nature. And if you are only concerned about your average, you can always opt out of tournaments where conditions are not to your liking.

  I think you're simply being factual. People don't need to exaggerate overly dramatize a situation to make their point. And that's what the OP did.

  So, still a very long way short of the 72-75 mph (depending on source) required to be classed as a hurricane then.

  Golf should be a challenge.  Where's the fun if everything is too easy?

  By general definition near means close to something. These winds are 29-30 away from there being no wind and over 40 away from hurricane.  Therefore they would more accurately be called near no wind than near hurricane.

  +1 In real life if Im outdoors in 20+ mile winds it has to be very important and it wont be for long . I play the high winds in practice rounds just for laughs and giggles . I like seeing the effects of the wind on the ball especially with the rock . There is nothing that says you have to play in these conditions so for the most part I dont .

  I personally prefer low wind events because Im a lazy golfer and I dont want to work that hard . The only problem that I have is that with real golf I know my score before I start playing . Here I have to play first to know my score . :-)
