Do you think that this is important for this game? I've been using a simple, cheap and extra small mouse now for years with no problems. I only pay attention to have a wired mouse.
It can be if people are having issues hitting the ding, for sure. The faster that click state makes it from the mouse to your machine, then to the browser, more chance you have of it stopping when you click.
I think it can help people who have issues with mouse click lag on the meter, it certainly won't hurt any. When the meter approaches the light blue area near the ding, it can move much faster sometimes than you can react sometimes. If you mouse is polling at 800 instead of the 125, that can mean close to ding or off into dark blue.
Myself I've used my older mx518 for most of the time, I've also played with cheap mice, I don't have any real meter issues so not a problem. I've played with a wireless mouse and that was horrid.
If you want to think of it another way. Think of the ding as the crossharis in a scope, as the meter moves along and approaches the crosshairs imagine it's a bunny rabbit you're trying to headshot.... Think polling rate matters in that scenario? Totally does, means you eat bunny stew or bunny eats your veggies from the garden.
Mind you this game isn't installed and does't really use system resources as such so I'm not sure you'd get that dramatic a benefit, but still, I can notice some difference when swapping out mice.
