    Hi guys,

as some of you know I'm a passionate mobile player but i tried the game on my Laptop too. I did watch those two opportunities for some time and am not sure what i should think about this. We all have this homepage as a base together and there are some tourneys both "communities" can play. I don't think WGT wants to connect both communities which i actually don't like. Most of my friends are PC players and i never have the chance to play with them.

I tried to do some research and actually it's not looking too good for mobile players...

    - we have ONE weekly mobile tournament which can be played by PC USERS - it's great that there is one but there could be a monthly tournament or even a Virtual Tour for mobile player too IF YOU want to separate those two communities. And since two weeks it's not possible to play the free weekly multi-round tournament - so another tourney taken away. if we have a free single, nation, or 18 hole tourney depends on which course it is because we don't have all courses. it would be great if they are coming someday... but instead we got a driving range, some coins which you can get for free but actually are useless. you can rent some clubs that are for hacks (nothing against hacks but the critique is on the clubs) i suppose. and we have no uel - so loads of opportunities for pc and not so much for mobile users... i know WGT is a business and they want to make money but if you can win something (credits) there should be the same circumstances for everyone.

    - Hitting the ding consistently is impossible on mobile - i know the forgiveness must be a little bit more on mobile but is there any mobile player out there that has those incredible good stats like f.e. fmags, saurabh, young46... or maybe something like that :)? i usually play off ding and have learned to get at least some good rounds in but i don't have a chance to even come close to a victory in a pc tournament with my mobile device. i have contact with a few mobile players and if we make a good score we are in the top 10. that's great honestly but i think the chances are not equal. i know it's kind of vague but i tried 50 consecutive shots and was able to hit 43 out of 50 dings on pc today. i tried the same on my tablet 11 out of 50 :) it should be the other way around if you have played at least 95% of 2000 ranked rounds on a device right? within all these shots (made on kiawah hole 1 with 0-2 sidewind 160yd) my approaches all landed within 4 1/2ft on pc and 8ft on mobile. that's quite a difference. I don't want to step on anyone's toes but this just seems a bit unfair to me.

    - but there are also some very good things on the mobile version: almost no connection issues, the game runs tight (although since the last updates there are glitches), and you can finish a round much faster on a mobile device. I have my meter stuttering since the last update but that's probably my tablet's not gonna handle it but in 99,99% the meter is good.

actually i want to know if anyone knows if these things are changing or if the courses are coming etc. :)? and i also want to reach out to the pc players - what do you think? i hope for many responses

    thanks

Edit: i have been in contact with CS for quite a while now and there's often one question: do you have a video? NOPE there's no video function on the mobile devices. It would be great to make videos so you can proof the things or even helpimg them to understand the problems we're facing.

    Hey Stizz,

Passionate mobile player here too. I think a monthly mobile tournament or virtual mobile tour are great ideas, though I do wonder about participation. As it is now, when you go to the leaderboard of the weekly mobile tournament you can only see scores for your current tier (even though there is a dropdown box at the top right, nothing happens when you tap it), so it's hard to tell. Sometimes I play those coin matches to meet people and maybe encourage them to join my mobile friendly country club, and I've noticed there are a lot of good players on mobile who don't play credit tournaments at all - some don't even know they exist - and they are happy to play their coin matches. Maybe that's why WGT claims mobile players are "vastly different" than the PC players. But it's my opinion that this is by design because they've made it so much easier to play the coin matches vs the credit tournaments.

As far as the ding thing goes, I'm impressed you got 11 out of 50! haha. I can't speak to the rest since I don't play on PC, but it sure is an eye-opener. For me, it will just make it sweeter when I do get lucky and manage to win a couple credits :)

Since WGT mobile is relatively new it's understandable that it doesn't have all the features (yet?), but I do agree that WGT does not want to connect the communities. If that's the case maybe we will see more mobile tourneys, or (more likely) maybe we'll get a mini golf feature?

    Cheers,
    Mick

I can help you make videos mate. I actually have a youtube channel with a few vids and I used a program called "LonelyScreen" which mirrors my iPhone's screen to a PC. Do you use an iOS device to play? If you use Android a program called "ilos" will work (thanks to jayw4862 for this info).

There are lots of players on mobile devices. I think if WGT makes announcements (f.e. of mobile tourneys) in the app more people would know it and give it a try. the participation rate could be a good reason but as you said there's no chance to check that. I know some players too that got away from mobile games because some people are able to play the mobile tourneys on their pc's :) i have no clue how they do it but they can do it :)

Sometimes I play those coin matches to meet people and maybe encourage them to join my mobile friendly country club, and I've noticed there are a lot of good players on mobile who don't play credit tournaments at all - some don't even know they exist - and they are happy to play their coin matches. Playing for Coins is better for the business. you can't buy balls or some useful equipment. So by playing for coins you (don't necessarily) have to pay for your equipment. But as you said - a good marketing strategy could get players to play for credits :)

I'm not sure if i can make 11 dings again. usually if i need one i'm not able to hit it unless it's a 2ft putt and the meter is extra slow hehe

You're absolutely right. It's something new and that's why i created this thread. to get people together to discuss it. i'm sure lots of pc players would like to play mobile players and the other way around. and it would be nice to have some knowlegde from WGT where the whole thing is going to :)

    Cheers,
    Mick

Think thats the other way round. The mobile tourney cant be played through PC but regular tourneys can be played in mobile. I say this as I've seen exclusive mobile players on regular leaderboards.

You're right mobile players are allowed to compete in pc games if the course is available. On the otherside you're not right. There's a possibilty to play the mobile tourney via pc - so kind of hard to get the same score than a good pc player. I'm not sure what the last update of this is. There is a very good pc player that stated this some time ago - that's why he stopped playing mobile.

Can u ask your mobile friends to read this and chime in?  That would be great! Thank you

I'm a dedicated mobile player too. I did try the PC version but just didn't feel comfortable with it, apart from the fact that the pC is my disabled wife's domain, so I stick to the tablet.

I'd love to play cross device games too, ATM i think the only way I can do this is via the CC comps.

Consistent ding hitting is a problem, especially the way the meter has been jumping lately even though I have a fast connection and good wifi. I also clear my app cache before every session. Using high trajectory clubs on RSG, RSA etc with the high wind factors can be very challenging but I think it has actually helped improve my shots out of rough and sand.

I'd also like to see a dedicated forum for mobile players where we could discuss aspects of the game and know we're all speaking the same language.

if anyone wants to friend me, I'd love to play a few rounds with other mobile players from the forums.

Mobile player here too. Would be great if you could play cross platform always feel like I'm missing out on interaction with other players especially  your other country club members but doubt this would ever be able to happen.

Don't think us mobile users will get any more tournaments than the 1 weekly 9 hole.

@mick: do you have lags if you use the video app?

I would appreciate that as well. maybe WGT could set up a THREAD for mobile players only.

    Thanks for your response!
