What the hell??? I use backspin on a LOT of my shots. Here lately when I use the backspin and then aim, it changes to topspin... needless to say I miss my shot by a FEW yards. It didn't use to do this and I think it's a bunch of crap that it's doing it now. Seems like just some other glitch that adds to the all important ball usage.
