    18 holes or 9?

The only thing that counts toward your average is the score. Number of strokes under par is irrelevant.

    +1 K7JBQ!

Fortunately, the last eleven games were 9 hole games which eases the interpretation. Scores are 34, 36, 33, 33, 32, 34, 32, 37, 35, 35, 31, doubled for average calculation.

Total number of Master scores is 47 (from your score history, ex one Par5, CTTHs and Blitz games). Saturation was with the 40th round, and now, with the last seven scores, you experience the wild rattling down in the first non-linear phase. Each of these scores (except the 37) has kicked out the highest score in that bowl of 40 for the new average. You have kicked out 76s (from 38 scores), 74s, 72s. Now some 72s are left, next to 70s and better scores.

Let's put the highest scores next to the last ones:

    76, 76, 74, ---- 74, 72, 72 (highest)

    64, 68, 64, 74, 70, 70, 62 (last scores from above, doubled)
    (32, 34, 32, 37, 35, 35, 31 originally)

That underlined 37/74 does nothing, marked by the dashes.

The others replace the highest scores, reducing the average by the difference, divided by 40. The first one was (64-76)/40 = -12/40 = -.3

    The second but last one was (70-72)/40 = -2/40 = -.05
    the last one was (62-72)/40 : -10/40 = -.25

I can't find a clue for your reported numbers, but you see that the last 31 had a smaller impact than the first 32 - that's the nature of this non-linear calculation.

Two rules are valid for you until you tier up:

    - the average will never go up again (until the numbers reset with Tour Master),

    - both your current score and the highest score in the mix will determine the average changes.

The threshold for the next tier is 63.00, quite a way to go. You might want to know that all scores above 32/64 or 65 might have been kicked out when you are there.

    Enjoy the ride!

So then i need to play more 18 hole games to help improve my avg or more 9 hole games?

    9-holers are better.

Alosso is correct. The reason why is pretty simple.

Playing nine instead of 18 reduces your chance of having that disaster hole that can wreck a round. Nothing like shooting a 29 on the front, then going out of bounds and double bogeying on the back to mess you up.

And, instead of one good score there may be two - any 60 is likely to split into two 30s, doubled to 2x 60. Or even 29+31 => 58 + 62...
