Our last I.C.C. game managed to attract 10 players (total of both teams) who managed only 505 points between them (before bonuses).
To the element that thinks players want to be challenged out of their brains at the end of 48hrs play I say have a rethink. Rethink gale force winds, unreadable/playable greens and tinkering with club sensitivities.
Ask yourself this: are most WGT players budding pros or social golfers?
Would you get in your car and drive to an unplayable golf course to play in atrocious conditions?
No, of course not.
Consider an alternative where multiple players from the same Club play together, decide who will take the super-pass prior to tee-off and spend a benign round discussing strategy and how the Club is performing. Benign conditions that don't need a super-computer or 10yrs of champion experience to figure out; that leave you exhilarated after 48hrs, not booking into rehab...
Just a thought,
