thanks, I'll stick with the R1

can someone recommend the best value ball that isn't a wgt product? I've got by with the wgt starter and ten credit ES/ED ones but they can sometimes be very unresponsive on approach shots. I'm not too worried about reducing meter speed, just a ball that gives a bit more control

    Thanks

All I would say OP is that if you are thinking of getting Nike driver and 3-wood (and I thoroughly recommend them) now is a good time to get them as they maybe withdrawn from service any day soon. Or year, or maybe decade, After all, we are talking WGT.

    +1

The Callaway (L33) is absolutely the best value ball in the pro shop.

thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out

one last question regarding the +2 distance you get on some balls. what does the +2 mean ( is it +2 yards or 2% on the clubs), I only ask as I couldn't find a clear explanation in the FAQ?

    Thanks

R1 took me all the way to legend level 83 and beyond to level 90 where I up graded  to the R15 and got me an extra 10 to 15 yards depending on wind and type of ball you use??? Good luck 🍀.  BRIAN

Tour SD would be a good one given you aren't overly concerned with meter speed. Lot of players also like L33 Soft Chromes(not me!) and Srixons(never played).

    ^^^^^This!

You might try these three balls in order of the price and see what fits you best. Apart from the characteristics, it's a question of regular spendings due to wear and loss - just have a look what you're ready to invest in your leisure ;)
