Duffy.  I think it's the other way around.  First you make the Master tier.  Then you can purchase Master clubs.  And by the way, nice head covers Mr. Waldorf.

i believe tarheel makes a good point when you play a ctth challenge you should'nt lose your ball because it is'nt a real round of golf..and too eternalspirit..i use the gi-d balls all of the time because they slow the meter down more than the es-balls, but imo they have about the same durability as the rest of the balls ive tried..and avatarlee makes good suggestion also about the advertising..only hole that kills me sometimes is #17 at kiawah..ive put so many balls in drink there..they should let me have scuba gear to recover them lol.

Not really... BX-D balls get spent much, much slower than the other 2 types, GI-D and B-ES.

BX-D balls are also pretty cheap, so unless you outright lose them (I once put three consecutive tee shots into the water hazard at Kiawah 17, too), you can pretty much ignore the costs of playing with BX-D balls.

That's not really the case of GI-D and B-ES balls; a 3-pack of those may be gone on a single day or two of casual play. It may only be a difference of half a dot on the ProShop's description charts, but in playing practice, the difference is very much appreciable.

Finally, B-ES balls do not slow down the meter at all. The only balls slowing down the meter are GI-D; it's the so-called "Feel" attribute on the chart.

Mattgolffan1, don't hold your breath waiting for scuba gear.  Where do you think WGT gets all the balls they're selling back to us?!

The ES balls seem to go away pretty quickly although they expire about the same as real balls, I use a ball for about 9 holes before taking it out of play.  The bummer for me was not realizing that the new balls when lost, are really lost.  Be careful on a challenge, I managed to lose a few that way.  Only have lost one at the 17th at Kiawah on here, I have managed to lose 4 on the hole in real play, believe me the shot is a little tougher staying there that online.

Oh, a GI-D or B-ES ball (both have the same durability) is a lot more durable than just 9 holes, although they do get spent rather quickly... Coolswing (I think), some time ago, wanted to do an exact statistics as to how many hits a GI-D/B-ES ball can take, but he probably gave up on it; it's tiresome to keep track of. But the general consensus seems to be, a GI-D/B-ES ball might last up to 2 full 18-hole rounds, or perhaps three 9-hole rounds. (Please correct me if anyone has more precise statistics.)

As to the BX-D balls, these are a lot more durable, and you can play lots and lots of rounds with a BX-D ball without worrying about its durability.

I believe, Mr. Faterson, that Mr. TarheelsRule was referring to his 'real' golf balls when he said that he takes them out after 9 holes, not WGT golf balls.  I, myself, have had the experience of needing to replace my golf balls on a real course after 9 holes, but that is only because I hit so many trees, cart paths and gutters that I scuffed my golf ball beyond round.

Now, as for the Gi-Ds, I am finding around half a dozen 9 hole courses (or 3 18s) before I start to get concerned about it's replacement.  Of course your mileage may vary...  tibbets, A-Lee, et al will hit the ball far fewer times in their 18s than you or I will... and any true hack will find that number much higher.

My 2¢ on the matter.  Thank you for listening.

Yeah I was referring to real golf balls which I tend to take out of play after 9 holes, unless they drown, run away or try to cut themselves on a cart path in which case I replace them.  The ES that I used would last 18 holes on WGT and no more.  Based on the club / ball price relationship it seems that the balls are much too expensive.

Snaike... gutters (like on homes?)... really?  Remind me to play with you in real life.  Skins... 2 bucks a hole?

Well, of course! But he was equalling that real-life usage to that of B-ES balls, which I find it cannot be. TarheelsRule, it seems impossible to me that a B-ES ball would only last 18 holes; if true, it might almost make you eligible to get your money back from WGT.  Žmurk
