My advice is to use your 3W from the tee...this will simulate the longer approaches so legend will not be such a surprise.

    Any suggestion on balls?
No change, at least not to more expensive.

You might see your average rise to 70+ after the promotion & reset, no need to waste precious balls while you struggle to adjust. The L33 Callies are perfect balls to play for fun, and methinks that you might have to change Driver and Irons for a real advantage (apart from practice!), but only in the 90s and 100s levels.

It's a long grind for levels, saturation (500 rounds) and average from then on - by level 93, you will have doubled your XPs!

Be sure to maintain the fun of the game!

I hope I don't have the same pain I did when I made it to master. Lol

There isn't a driver long enough to compensate for hitting from the back tees.

At legend there is nowhere to hide, this is where you have to relearn the game. The transition is difficult but once you have adjusted you will see that this is when the game gets 'real'.

Placing your drives to give the best angle of approach becomes more important. The 'hulk smash' style of driving will lead to trouble. From the legend tees there are bunkers in play that I didn't know even existed!

Approaches to the green will now be mostly long iron shots, so mapping those clubs (carry, roll out etc.) will be necessary.

Try using your 3 wood from the tee, as Alanti suggested above, it will give you a real sense of what to expect.

Good luck and enjoy the challenge.

Making it to Legend is painful is you don't have enough rounds played and don't have a good equipment. It took me a lot of time to improve in this Tier. Players are extremely competitive too. Good luck!! I use 400cr Volvik balls.

It's going to mess with your mind and your soul... ;)

Reached Legend tier a couple weeks ago, and by far the most difficult thing to adjust to IMO is the greens.  Sure the tees are further back, but that's not the killer -- at least for me.  If you've got a driver that'll go 300 with a little backspin don't worry about the tees being further back.

Work on your short game and putting.  Every missed ding -- every mis-calculation will send your ball further away for par.  I'm lipping out and missing more birdie putts than ever before, and the putts for par aren't gimmes.   It'll just take time to figure it all out -- i hope!! ;)

Was low 60's even sub 60 as a TM, now I"m a couple under and struggling to break par on the more difficult courses.

The putts just aren't going in, and some of the breaks are ridiculous.  If you don't make it, you'l be double the distance coming back for par.

The VEM gets turned up a notch (less forgiving) when you reach the Legend tier.

Hitting from the back tees basically requires playing each course differently than at the Tour Master tier.  Add to that the somewhat faster greens and consequently there is a fairly steep learning curve, so don't be surprised when your stroke average goes up.

In addition to your stroke average reset it takes on the order of 500 ranked rounds for your stroke average to saturate so higher than your stroke average scores no longer affect your stroke average.

As far as getting more distance without upgrading your driver the key is close attention to what the wind is doing and use of the ball spin dot.

For example, when hitting onto the wind some amount of top spin often helps by keeping the ball 'under the wind'. Hitting with the wind some amount of back spin often helps by letting the wind carry the ball further. Of course elevation change from tee to landing spot has to also be factored in.

First rule of WGT Nation... don't talk about WGT Nation. ;-)

And congratulations on making it to Legend. Well done.
