    DAZZA501:
    Can i just point out that this thread was from 2 years ago and was dragged back up by someone at the bottom of page 3.

    I noticed that as well. I guess I'm so used to old threads being brought back to life that I barely notice it or think about it anymore.

    Even so, I did get a chuckle of that person taking a shot at the "developers" when he apparently lacks some basic reading skills. :-)

    @Don

    What I find ironic is that when WGT used to give a free ball on the various holidays, invariably people would complain about the characteristics of the ball, with respect to spin or distance.

    They give a free ball... Hey, WGT, what a crappy ball!

    They give free ball effects... Hey, WGT, where's my free ball?

    You are correct in that this was a very old thread. However, with that being said, it also means that someone ( the player you eluded to on Page 3 ) took the time and used the Forum search feature to post their issue.

    There are different opinions when it comes to which is the preferred method...

    Search for a topic already discussed or

    Start a New Thread.

    There is nothing wrong with either method as long as the bottom line is met... being that the players issue gets resolved.

    Don

    2 years ago it was a ball and not effects. Therefore he was referring to something completely different. I bet he didn't realize he was commenting on an old thread and thought there was others having the same issue.

    I find it infinitely more useful and productive to search and use previous related threads for a question on a particular topic.  As you noted, that means that the poster at least looked for an answer - something that many, if not most, of the posters seem to ignore.  This method works for me most of the time, because most questions I have were asked and answered before.

    It also means that aggregated information accumulates in a single post (or at least fewer posts) instead of being scattered in multiple posts.  That makes the forum more useful, unlike a file cabinet full of stuff in random order.

    As it's been pointed out multiple times on these boards, it's not a free ball. It was free ball effects
