Driver Precision 4.0 or 4.5?

  I have to upgrade my driver since moving to the Master level.  I am at Level 70.  I can get the TaylorMade M1 9.0 (L55), at Precision 4.0, or wait out until level 74 for the TaylorMade M1 9.0 (L74), with Precision 4.5.  Precision4.0 vs 4.5 - Does it really matter that much to wait another 4 levels.  My current driver makes it difficult to reach the greens in 2 at Master level.  Thank you for any advice.

  Since neither of those drivers were available when i was a Master, I can only relate what I did.  I kept using the Ping G25 L58 Driver I had until I could buy the SLDR @ L79.  I don't remember how hard it was to reach greens in 2.  Are you talking about only the Par 5's, or most of the Par 4's as well?

  Your current driver has better specs than the Ping I used did.  The big differences between the L74  M1 and the SLDR are 2 extra yards distance and the SLDR is high trajectory.  And the SLDR is 200 credits cheaper.  From Lvl 70 to lvl 79 is about 60K XP's.  But from L74 to L79 is only about 37K XP's.

  edit:  I didn't realize that the L55 was rented.  I guess the other thing to consider is what kind of a budget you have.

  Thank you for your help.  The current driver on my profile is one of the Taylor Made drivers I was considering buying (I am renting it).  It is not my normal driver I own.  

  I have trouble reaching the green in Par 4's, but not all.  I can't remember which course, but there is one hole where I can't reach the fairway with the driver I own.

  The budget can handle any of the drivers.  I was just wondering if anyone thought it was worth waiting it out and buying the 4.5 precision over the 4.0.

  You are probably thinking of Merion #18.  I can remember playing it for the first time and being way short of the fairway on my Tee shot.  

  You will be using the same Tee's when you reach Tour Master, so that helps.  If you are able to hit the ding very consistently then you might see a bit of difference for the 0.5 difference in precision.  But I'm not sure.

  If you read it you will see why I'm not sure if you will notice a 0.5 difference in precision on the Drivers.

  I looked at your scoring history and see you are playing a lot in the last 2 months.    You will eventually want better irons, wedges and a putter.  The Clevelands you use now are OK, but you will want much better ones like the top level Clevelands when they become available.  Learn to make all the wedge shots, or at least pitch, flop and punches.  It gives you much more shot versatility.

  Biggest thing is to try and stay with one ball, if possible.  Or at least balls with the same meter speed.  I say this because I saw you had both the L33 Cally and the WGT Tour S balls loaded in your equipment.  I used to use the Cally L33 as my Tournament ball, and the WGtTG13-S ball for fun.  The meter speed was the same and I had mapped both balls for the clubs I was using at that time.  So I knew about the relative distances for each.

  Only thing I would add is that the L74 M1 driver might be of use from the legend tier.  I hope this helps.

  IMO, precision is overrated, go for the forgiveness. Keep it in the fairway.  :-)

  Thank you so much for all the timne you put into this, and information and great advice.  I will remenber it and use it as I move along more.
