    Which irons have more spin: The L59+ G10 iron set or the L37+ Tour Burner iron set? Would the higher trajectory of the G10s get more spin than it says?

    I have used both sets of irons, I got the Tm's because i thought the added spin shown on the parameters would make up for the lower trajectory, that didn't pan out. I never tried them with the Callaways however so that might make some difference. My feeling is that the G10's are the the way to go, and the majority of the better players use G10's. I always thought the yardages on the Burners was a little wacky also.

    What part of the dot ratings do you not understand? More dots means just that-more. The one on the left is an apple and the one on the right is an orange. Can you see the differences?

    High loft doesn't need the spin to stop like a Med/High does. One comes in high and lands softer while the other one comes in low  like a freight train and needs the brakes.

    The g10's are much better clubs. They will stop better and come back better, the dots may say one thing, but high loft with decent backspin will kill the dot diff, not to mention the precision diff is much better on g10's, added distance on 3i etc.  Now the i15's are even more fun, it's like playing darts using them.

    HD is right the high loft makes up for the lack of spin many times over.  On courses like Oakmont and Beth Page the loft is many times better.

    G10s spin more because of higher ball flight,, Like Jim says the other one comes in with more speed,

    There are several level versions of the G10 irons.  For comparison purposes examine level 35 and 59 iron sets.

    The set at level 35 (med-high) has a club range of 105-200.

    The set at level 59 (high) has a club range of 115-210;

    Both these sets have the same characteristics when it comes to spin.  Both have 3 dots of spin.  The major difference is level 35 set has a lower trajectory.  Hence, the ball will not stop as quickly compared to the same club at a higher trajectory.  The easy way to compare this is use the Tour GI-SD ball.   Compare the 8i and 7i on each set, and then you will see why.

    Thus, the higher the club level,  the greater the performance, using the same ball.
