I like the idea of playing multiplayer for tourneys. Indeed the only reason I don't play toruneys is because you must play the course solo. There should be some option or some tourneys to play played as in a normal multiplayer round.
Moreover, take a look at this post of mine suggesting a No Queue option: http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/443360.aspx
What it's about is this: having to wait 2/3 players to hit their shot just watching at their still avatar, is very slowing and boring too. So why not have each take their shot at the same time?
Think a 9-hole with other 2 players takes 1hr 15 min. With this
option you would take your time to swing your shot as usual, but while
the other two players are doing just the same. Then after you have taken
yours, you would rapidly be shown the other two shots without that
delay during which everyone thinks about how to hit the ball. So, since
every 9-hole has a 36 strokes average, a 9-hole game with other two
players is about 36x3= 108 strokes. Since you need 36 strokes each
player, you would be taking away the delay time 72 times, which equals
to 1800sec (72x25sec), which is just 30 minutes. So a multiplayer game
with other two players would last 45 minutes instead of 1hr 15min. But
now sit tight as the best part comes in.
45 minutes is the time it would take even if playing with other 3 players, or 4-5-6 players (or more..).
Thus you could've 8 players playing at the same time and still the
9-hole would last no more than 45 minutes. Isn't that a great
improvement?
You could've your country club tournaments played together with other 7 members of the club and still finish a 9-holes in 45 minutes or so.
