I'm just wondering.....when will the Tour Champion level start to be populated ?  It's been around for quite some time now and there is still only one person in that tier as far as I can tell.

It would certainly help make the Ready Go tournaments more competitive for us players that are in the Champion Tier but not at the elite level as players like FMagnets, Sebicu, KonradOse, Frenchconnect, etc to name a few.  Why are these players not already in the Tour Champion tier ?  These are all players, and there are others I am sure, with over 10,000.00 worth of credit winnings from playing Ready Go's and other tournaments. (I think there are even some players in the 100,000.00 and over range in winnings).

For instance, the monthly 200 credit tournaments that pay out big credits to only the Top 3 spots are almost always won by one of these "elite" players.  In fact it's rare when any of the top 3 are not one of these "elite" players.

While I tip my cap to all of them, isn't it about time that they get put in the Tour Champion tier and let them beat up on each other ?  That would give us more middle of the road Champion Tier players at least a sniff of a chance in those kinds of tournaments.

    Why is this important ?

Because if you can win some nice paying tournaments every now and then you can keep yourself supplied with balls without having to hit the real money from a credit car, PayPal, etc.

In the lower tiers as players get better they get bumped up, leaving a more equitable and competitive lower tier.

God forbid, I don't want to sound like a socialist here but leaving these guys in the Champion Tier is like making club pros or really good club players play with the likes of Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy. Jordon Speith, etc.

So what say, WGT ?  When will you start to populate that tier ?

From my memory, WGT said that they have no plans yet, so it will stay idle for a while.

There are two TCs BTW, one being promoted posthumously and unavailable in the search function.

WGT should pay more than the top 3 spots !  Why enter a premium tournament if you have no chance at all to make the top 3 , That's just foolish ,  Tour Champion tier should be opened because there is enough Champions now to justify the opening .  Also they should move their tee box back a few yards ... And sell a 300 yard driver ..  Just my opinion ..

They can't, because they have no photos.

top 3 is fine for that tournament. Rewards those who play at a very high level

of course, I have had several WDs in those tournaments once it is clear I have no chance at the top 3

I agree, what was the point of creating the champion tier and then filling it with everyone who was previously a TL? As to wgt's answer probably still something like:

    Hi xxxhogheadxxx,

As of now, Tour Champion isn't being offered to players yet and wont be available for awhile. There will be an announcement once this Tier is available to players. :)

This is 100% true. We have not started sending out invites to enter the Tour Champion tier yet. We're giving it some time so that we have a large group of Champion tier players before opening up Tour Champion.

    _CHAMPION

All we need to know now is what a "large group" means.  I would have thought that the vast majority of those that would deserve to be in TC are already at Champion.

I wonder if these invites can be refused, as the word suggests.  Maybe sandbagging is to be officially allowed at champion rather than just tolerated as it is, in my opinion, at Legend.

I can only say that in my case it would be a waste of money because I have no chance to place in the top 3 ...

I know from our club that TL is becoming redundant. As the shift up from L takes forever whilst the explosion into Champ status is kinda quick.

Great that we have TLs moving up on a regular basis but i think OP is correct, way too many champs........time to open TC.

P.S Not sour grapes that i drop 0.01 (in total) if i shoot two, yes two rounds of 60 and a 28 as happened the other week.

    Pity me ;-)
