I've read elsewhere on the forum that an average of 63 is needed to progress up to tour master level, but WGT keep those boundaries a closely guarded secret.

    wgt.com/help.aspx#tiers:

Advancing to the next Tier requires a qualifying Average Score AND a minimum amount of completed stroke play games, which will take a little more time but will help players reach the Levels necessary to unlock upgraded equipment that is helpful to compete at higher Tiers.

63 is the average i got to when i moved from master to tour master. Same as a alot of my friends in our country club when they moved up to tour master. This does seem the norm but you do need quite a few ranked rounds at each tier to move up

Hey, I just started.  Played a buncha practice, spent some $$$ to upgrade my clubs.  I'm level 26 and just played my first ranked round, 18 at Bethpage.  I shot a 69.

My question:  In the beginning, when you first start playing ranked games, approx. how many do I have to play to get a rank (I don't consider 'Hack' a rank :) )?  And, will I jusp immediately to a rank commensurate with my avg. or do you have to climb the tiers a step at a time?

JaLaBar, i would imagine that you would progress tier to tier, but I've seen players at Master level with only level 20 or less experience. If you do progress, which you will by the look of your stats then all your scores at the lower tiers are wiped out and you only get ranking averages at your current tier. That said it is possible to still compete in easy tee/easy wind country club tourneys and improve your average quite quickly....Be warned, the clubs you have now at your level will not enable you to be competitive at the higher levels. My advice is take your time and enjoy the ride.

    Steve,

Thank you.  Yes, I know at the very least, gonna need a new driver.  Can't really be competitive having to play low irons or woods into most holes.  I'm using the Tour Plus driver and 3W right now, which if I buy better balls seems to give me decent distance, but once I get comfortable with the swing meter I'll upgrade to a faster meter and longer club.  I have played all the courses with these clubs on the champion tees, I can still score down between par and 75.

One thing is, having played a lot of video golf in the past, the play, the club lengths, etc are all familiar.  It helps a lot.
