  Ok, someone help,,,just made legend last night, I was using Callaway 34 to play coin games and did real well, win lose percentage was 87 %,  my ranked round avg, was 60.8 using the Nike 61s,  this morning I jumped right in to see how much difference there was going to be, by moving back.  Forgot to change back to the Nike balls, after playing a few coin games.  First ranked round out of the gate I shot a 34, missed 3 putts for an auto tap, due to me second guessing the grids, ( Kiawah course), am I missing something, or is there really any difference in the performance? Or is it the cost difference they pay royalty to between the brand names?

   

  Once you made Legend at least two things happened.  You started playing from the parking lot tees, and the Green Speed went up to 12 from 11 for Tour Master.

  It makes a very big difference in putting, more than you ever think.  I am not very familiar with the mobile game, but if there is a practice green spend some time using it to get a feel for how much more break there is.  Avoid mulligans as it will charge 2 hits to your ball, where as putting should not charge any hits on the practice green.

  Most people find this out when they make Legend.  It took me quite a while to get a feel for the greens, but you will eventually do so.  Also, I think all balls act the same on the green except for meter speed.  So the L34 Cally and the L61 Nike should act the same.

  One other point, Kiawah becomes much harder as a Legend.  I think you go from Medium to Hard hole locations also as a Legend.

  Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly,  I guess what I was trying to convey was that the the Birdies I missed were not the ball reactions,  what amazed me was that it preformed well enough for me to think twice about using the Nikes.after reading some of the forums,  I expected to become a complete hack again. This being due to driving from tee boxes in the parking lots and green speeds.etc. well I guess I'm going to just use the Callaway and see if the overall performance lasts,,,if not go back to the Nikes, or whatever the new equivalent would be.  Ty you anyways, seeing how I have 500 plus games to sort it out..gonna be a long haul    lol   thanks again, but I would be open to any and all suggestions.

  Sorry, I did misunderstand.  My best advice is to find a ball you are comfortable with and can afford to play all the time.  I myself am trying to get back to playing a ball with 2.5 meter like a Cally L33.  

  My only question to you would be the cost between a Nike L61 and a Cally L34 is only 50 credits per sleeve.  Do you really feel that the balls play so close to the same?  The Nike has a lot more spin than the Cally.  Just something to think about.

  Good Luck, enjoy your rounds and don't get too focused on average.  Hit 'em where you are aiming.

  Yes, the greens change. The bigger break takes more adjustment than the speed for most, me included.

  As for Kiawah, I really haven't seen much pin difference. The long water par 3 occasionally plays to the 245 pin, but the 220 pin is quite a bit more common.

  But the greens there...some (few) days I putt well there. Most of the time I want to rent some gophers and turn 'em loose.

  Moving to the legend tier and beyond has the 2 obvious changes: tee location and green speed. There is one often overlooked change that becomes apparent as you play: longer approach shots using the long irons or 3 wood.  This is where the better balls and better iron sets show their real value. Being able to spin balls effectively can be the difference between an 8 foot putt and a 20 putt or even finding that sweet spot on a green so that the ensuing putt is relatively straight and flat.

  +1.  Often overlooked, yet obvious once you look at the difference the Tee Box makes.

  A fair point phred, all I'd say to that is I've seen countless good and really good wedge shots from around the green ruined by tremendous backspin. Okay, it's up to the player but I've found the Callys much more user friendly in that department.

  Another option being the volviks. A very underrated ball in my opinion, I love them, and not too bad on the value front either.

  Rich,

  I agree that Nike's require you to learn how to use the spin compared to the Callys.   You have to pay attention to the green contour.  Everything is a learning process. 

  I tried the Volviks but found that I liked the Nike L61 better.   Bottom line is to find something that works for you personally.
