Meter Speed

  Perhaps I'm missing something here. I rented a TaylorMade Spider putter to try that has a meter speed of 5 yet the meter runs much faster than the beginner putter than shows a meter speed of 5. Why is that?

  Prolly because the beginner 5 is bit more geared to new players, giving them a easier putting experience, never reallynoticed that though. 

  5 is usually pretty slow on any putter I found.

  It might seem fast yes but are you also using a slow meter ball or the wgt rock?Theres your difference.

  Not cliche to new players, Don. We've heard it a zillion times but nobody ever really mentions why. Clearing cache files makes WGT send new ones. Not doing this after getting something new will sometimes not change club attributes and you might not see a difference.  :-)

  I thought I read somewhere that the ball attributes are mostly the controlling factor of the meter.

  Higher number on the ball for the meter 4 - 5 will slow a set of clubs down with a three meter speed. Thus the higher cost of slower meter speed balls.

  He has all starter stuff except the ball. I am unfamiliar with that type of ball.

  Best thing to do, is try to ultimately match all your irons, wedges, drivers, and such with a comparable ball speed. Then muscle memory takes over at one speed or close to it.

  This is not to take away from the above or other posters. Cleaning cache and flash, as  recommend most likely put them where they are today.

  Windows 10 with Edge is really smooth. I don't touch the flash. A step by step tutorial would be nice to refer people to. I had no idea where to find Cache & flash.

  That's where ScottHope comes in. Go to his page as suggested, and don't get overwhelmed. Just take away what you need, or post on his wall, what you need.

  Let me add that, IMHO, balls should not be much "better" = higher in level than the clubs used. Much of the ball characteristics doesn't show then, and the credits are wasted.

  The Starter ball is the clue.

  Only Starter and Beginner's clubs and putter go well with that ball. All the others show a much higher meter speed and call for custom balls - pling, pling...

  A cheapo B-ES makes a big difference there!

  (My preference are Tour-SD or Cally (L33))

  That's why I recommend clearing cache before and after any rentals.

  Meter speed depends on the speed of the equipment PLUS the speed of the ball combined.
