Wow...
The 9 hole single at St. Andrews. Shot a 35, 43rd at present. I could have gone much lower, but again hacked it around with the putter and was a bit erratic early tee to green. Settled down to birdie 4 of the last 5 (the other a par), started by a 46 foot birdie putt (!?!?). I nearly choked. Next hole I lipped out a 36' eagle putt. Next two, stiffed the pins and made a 4' and 6' putt, respectively. Missed a 12' birdie putt on the last hole after driving what I thought said 331, but according to my awards I only show 309 as my long which was earlier in the round. I landed my drive on the walkway for a tremendous bounce boost, so I guess I don't get credit for it. Pitched to the 12'.
Anyway, decent round. I didn't play all that well tee to green early, which is a much more rare occurance than my putting woes, and I putted erratic early. But I got both straightened out the second half, which was sweet. I guess I'll go ahead and buy the Anser.
And... I tiered up to pro. I have been playing hard tees with moderate winds and standard greens in practice rounds anyway, so I'm not worried about it, though when I hit L35 and access to the longer Callaway ball, I'll probably ramp up my practice conditions. I can't wait until I can grab the highest Raptures. I like this one, but don't notice a significant difference from the Tour Plus driver. The Rapture irons I think will be sweet.
