One more comment....alot of people seem to be complaining about the quality of the graphics.

I don't find the same complaints.  This course LOOKS DIFFERENT - I think mostly because we have not really seen a desert-ish setting before with the very bright green grass against the pale earth tones of the rocks sand etc.  This is seaside, but it is not KIAWAH.

I THINK the closest we have to this in appearance is Wolf Creek.

I am interpreting the comments about "it looks fake and cartoon" to be more to do with it is a new setting that people are not really used to seeing.

    Thanks, AC

    MrDonVito:

I don't know if it was just me but I just tested the CTTH out and noticed a very smooth meter... Am I imagining this or has anyone else noticed it? So if I have any positive feedback about this idea, it would be to take whatever technology tru golf uses for the meter performance and them dump them like a cheap prostitute.

WGT must have swithched off the Doom button on this 1, to try and get people to accept it. Just want to say, i wont be giving up WGT just yet, depends on what way they are leaning here. On a positive note, at least your trying WGT, but you can see from the responses here, its not the way to go.

I play with a group of friends as a team....some of you may know me......We reached a milestone on our team this week.........137 ALT GUILD matches in 7 days........hmmmmmmm   4 players at 137 .......at 100cr........thats $548......wow!!!!

It looks to me that WGT teamed up with a company that already had the course done......poorly too I might add.......and added WGT over lays to it........my Avatar looked more HD then the course.

Isn't part of the WGT slogan......"Stunning HD Graphics"......thought I read that somewhere.    I am stunned to find this course a disappointment.  Oh BTW, I did let my curious side get he best of me.....I played the FREE  CTTH.........it was awful.

Sorry WGT........not such a fan of it.

the new course is great but i hope this idea of green fees doesn't catch on with the other courses or any other new ones like congressional, how about adding new pin placements on all greens or more options in practice mode, i played the front 9 on the new course but will not continue to pay for the privelege.

    WGT,

I have only been playing here for 7 months now, and to be honest WGT is the best golf sim out there.  I honestly don't have a problem paying some money to upgrade equipment and what not.  I have dropped an easy couple of hundred into this game before I got decent enough to compete in ready go's and premium tourneys to keep me in supply of calloways and upgraded equipment.  All that being said, I have to agree with Bollox.  Make your existing game better!  Change pin placements, add true shot shaping (not move the aim marker 30 yds to the right for a 25mph wind), make the winds consistent with the shape of the course not consistently in your face!  Definitely fix fringe putting!  Do something, anything, with the meter!  I think taking care of the issues that I read about in the forums daily, will keep your members here longer than adding in a sub-par looking course that you must PAY to play.  Ya'll take 20% off the top for every ready go and premium tourney we enter.  God only knows what ya'll make off balls and clubs.  But making members PAY TO PLAY a round?  Wrong move!  We pay enough in using up the balls!  I, for one, will not be paying and additional dollar a round, regardless of what the course looks like!  Would you charge us $2 for ready go's on these new courses?  I don't think so!  Nice try, but not gonna happen with me.  As I said, and many other more established members have said earlier, fix what you have and we will keep on keeping on.

After spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on upgrades and balls, the idea of being charged for every time I tee off, especially for this new course that could have been lifted from an antiquated and outdated version of the TW pc game (excuse me while I gag and vomit), NO THANK YOU!!!

You know how full of praise I usually am toward your extraordinary game, but this, THIS, is like cheap plastic flowers on a $5000 marble table, with the gall to brag about them and hold out your hand for a reward.

    WGTadmin:
We will also be announcing additional closest-to-the-hole courses, but millions of WGT players are asking for more stroke play courses, and we have listened.

If you have millions of WGT Players, (or is this just a figure of speech), then why don't you do something like

"We are ready to develop a new (HD quality) stroke play course - in order to finance this, we need 20 credits from each player to pay for it"

    1 million x 20 credits = 20 million credits = $200,000.

    i.e. Development paid for

Or am I just living in a virtual world?

Alternatively, if you want to stop the passing around of virtual credits that players have won and lost to each other, try this

"We are ready to develop a new (HD quality) stroke play course - in order to finance this, we need players to deposit an additional 20 cents into their accounts"

In either case, players who contribute 20 cent/credits get to play the new course for free, those who don't have to pay 5 credits/cents every time they want to play it.

You just add a field to their user record on the database, and set it to Y if they contribute to the development costs.

In this way, maybe you can deliver 4 courses a year instead of 2. (New course every 3 months)

Man, I should be in big business.

Does anyone know, ballpark, how many members of WGT there are

OK, I'll be honest, I've haven't really played that much in the last few months, nor have I have been very active in the forums. In other words, my opinion means jack-all(then again, looking at the improvements you have made, everyone else' opinion seem to mean jack all to you as well), but screw it, I'll still going to say it.

    DON'T. DO. THIS.

Your main selling point is that you are a free golf game, where you can play every course and every round FOR FREE. I've haven't put a penny into this game, nor do I plan to. And you know what? I've enjoyed it. Great courses, great gameplay and great community, all for free. And then you ruin it by getting rid of the first one. Can't be long for the other two...

The courses looks OK, but that's just it. It's only OK. When I look at it at a distance, it's looks familiar to me. Then I saw the greens, and remembered where I'd seen them, That's right, Tiger Woods 10 on the XBox. Oh, the flashbacks!

Don't do this WGT. In the last 6 months, it seems like many high profile players have retired. Don't get rid of the rest while you're at it.
