Hi, been wondering about this for quite a while.

I just played a couple of ready go's with strong winds and nearly all holes had the wind strongly against me. I got reasonable scores considering the difficulty but I wonder, do all the other players receive the exact same conditions as I received or is it just randomly given to each player?

Appreciate any enlightenment with this one.

My understanding is that conditions will vary from player to player. Sometimes, you benefit; other times, not so much.

But to be clear: the variation is in direction of the wind. If it's a high-wind tournament, it's high winds for everyone, just not necessarily the same direction on each hole for everyone.

So it is random, except for the conditions that are not. ;-)

Spot on....and been a contentious issue for a long time....but highly unlikely it will change.
