    borntobesting:

But if your CC members don't play in a set of the week tourney what good does it make to create one??

I created one Thursday morning and as of noon Friday I was the only entrant. And I made a CC forum post about it and sent an Email to all members about it. I will check on it again tomorrow. (Edit) I was able to check it on my phone. Only 1 other person entered it.

That is frustrating.  I'm delighted to be able to play these old clubs again, I couldn't wait to set a tourney up.  I'm pleased to say 12 people posted a score.  Not too bad with 69 members in the club, I'm hoping for a better turn out next time though.

    Very good idea

    Just a couple of questions.

1/  Is it an added cost to use the clubs

2/  When you enter the Comp does the game automatically give you the clubs

No added cost.  Usual cost for RG if you're doing Set of the Week RG.  Minimum 5cr to use set of the week for a CC tourney.

Yes, the clubs come automatically upon entering the tourney.

    Thx

I got to use my original set of clubs again and I enjoyed every minute of it.   Except for the putter, that was rubbish   lol

Boy o boy though,  did I notice the difference in distance.  Don't know how I survived back then  lol     It was just fantastic.

    Thx Wgt.  Great idea

I think this is a superb idea, at least the best idea WGT has had in a long time. I setup a tourney for our club, but soon discovered my mistake . I failed to take the game off of default tee boxes. From the back tees, the SOTW  clubs are woefully short, and an even par round was a very good challenge.

All and all, I think this idea has room to grow and prosper, just my 2 cents worth.

    Play well,

    Biggunky

    Hi,

My club created one - I pressed the button to get details and nothing happened. I entered and didn't look at the clubs until my putting was disastrous. Terrible idea. If the button to get the explanation had worked I could have made a proper decision.

I have to say i just loved it, nice to go back to the old and very good  Rapture clubs ( i used them as a master ) The idea is one of the best WGT come up with so far. And my cc loved it to lol.

We have 14 members entered. I'm still surprised the ones with starter clubs haven't taken advantage of it. Go figure.

These tournaments don't affect your average so there's no harm done there at least. And next time you see one it will be with eyes wide open.

Our club has a forum page where players who create tourneys can post that they have done so and include a description of it. That way players are forewarned about club sets, or timers, or slow green speeds or whatever.

I don't think there's anything terrible about the idea at all, but since you managed to find your way to the forums to complain about it then maybe you should keep an eye on them in future so you'll have the knowledge you need to avoid accidental participation in terrible ideas.
