You may join the Ladder site. (See site manual.) Quitting in any shape and form is discouraged & even penalized there. Once you get on a Ladder, you can send Friends invitations to players in the neighbourhood of your current ranking (such invites usually get accepted), and by winning games against those players, you move up the ladder. (I agree it's next to hopeless trying to complete games in this site's random multi-player; the game usually collapses in one way or another, sometimes before it even begins.)
