    K7JBQ:

The scroll wheel will do that easily. Next club "up" from driver is your highest loft wedge. Have had it happen a few times. Gotta remember to check the club selection one last time (on the backswing).

Distance seems normal for the hybrid from the rough.

No wheel (though trackpad can - and does on occasion emulate it) - AND - I am SURE it did not happen as I do check everything before taking the swing

No rough either = 3rd *TEE* Pebble Beach

As I said in another comment (moderated yet?) - the result is VERY similar to a "duff" = left or right of center "sweet" area (area is not so sweet, but don't know what to call it) -

I am able produce similar result by purposely hitting far left or right of center DING = acts as if you topped the ball in real life

see other comments when they finally get moderated...

it acts like a "duff" (left or right big miss) or "topping" the ball in real life

I don't have any idea how WGT app deals with it, but as a coder in Macromedia Director, I would have given DING a value of "0" and adjusted performance variables according to mousedown pixels left or right  = +10 produces a "fade" or +30 is a big mishit right or +100 is a shank/duff

The result I got is like the latter - the ball did not "fly" at all

I was so dumbfounded that I did not react fast enough to get a replay !!

Just scratch your head and mutter "What was that about?".  In variably those things happen either during a paid tournament or an important CC tournament.  A corollary of Murphy's Law I think.  The same way one errant shot attracts another during multi player.

Here's the problem with random, intermittent, etc. Flash issues = if you pay money to enter a tourney, you are then at the mercy of the software, not your skills (or lack thereof)

    Oh boy, a conspiracy theorist.

I am telling you 99% of bad shots are on you. Believe what you want.

You have been playing for a month, yet you are sure your pre-shot routine was spot on.

And my point with the tee was the height of a ball would have a direct influence of the ball. Remember those geometry lessons? If true, the ball would travel a much shorter distance....then there is the forgiveness or lack thereof.....

Like on a real course....really fluffy lie.....the wedge slides under the ball and nearly hits you on the nose......

    Head scratching done.

    Muttering here.

I am no Jordan Speith, wondering how that coulda happened when I know I hit a perfect REAL golf "swing" - I am a former coder who knows a "glitch" when I see one, thus reporting this in the Bug Forum.

If WGT is gonna take my money, I should expect that the game itself will not cause bad shots

(I see 'em all the time actually)

Same thing if I buy club  or ball - I expect to get the performance that is advertised.

I will not be paying entry fees if there is no Tournament director or Rules Official to award me a mulligan on the spot. Scratching my head is terribly unsatisfying when I gotta pay to do it.

Funny (keep your day job) ;) = finding a legit bug is far from a conspiracy - unless the developer knows about it already and refuses to fix it because it makes money for them, but I am not making that claim.

I realize that bad shots are majority mine.

I am not "believing" anything - I am an experienced custom app coder in Director, Flash's Big Brother, that knows a glitch when I see one - and this IS one. I can look at this game and any other) and plan out in my mind how I would go about making it.

It is not about my experience with the game - but I know how often user error is the cause of the effect, so I am sure about THIS ONE. I would not have brought up the issue if I wasn't.

This was not a club selection v. tee height issue.

No "lie" at all = on the tee WITH a tee (no previous duff of the teed ball - yes, I've done that too) = NOT a wedge but the driver I cited > PING G25 10.5° Driver

If WGT is not interested in trying to fix glitches - then random glitches are bugs that will keep me from giving them my cash for tourney fees

Flash and Director are two different Adobe products, well technically Macromedia.

I've been using Flash since it was a plugin for Director... You don't code apps or games with Director... Certainly nothing along the lines of this game, this game never should have been developed in.... Well never mind, I've beaten that horse to death, into dust.

Trackpad, mouse or retinal-HUD .... You selected the wrong club, everyone's done it here.

I am not gonna argue what was my business for over 15 years.

Director came first. DOES code apps and games.

Both Flash and Director "authored content" are *delivered* using Shockwave players

BOTH are dead according to Adobe
Adobe Ends Macromedia By Discontinuing Adobe Director, Contribute; Shockwave On Mac Support Terminated As Well

If you were looking over my shoulder at the time is the only way you can make that statement - what I report is what happened - period

I have had 3 "errant" shots just today on DINGed and well aimed shots - if this were a standalone game, I would delete and reinstall to make sure there are no gremlins

I've got to agree, although 29yds does seem harsh. A touch on the mouse wheel and I putted off the tee, 1st hole Kiawah Is. Sure I made more than 29yds though. ( huge comedy value too)

    Cheers!
