    Some of us like 3 wedges and driver, 3 metal and fairway metal. Why not allow one iron being held out, players would need a full set of irons. An additional fairway metal wood be more in WGT's pocket.

    Oops - a false friend in translation.

    It's not designed for separated irons.

    Adding to the complications, that will not be resolved, some players will want to drop the 3 iron for a hybrid while other drop the iron set PW for a fourth wedge.  Or maybe both! Now the need for completely separate irons is required.  I don't see this happening but it would be nice.
