On one side, I do understand that an "everything for free" enterprise does not stand much of a chance at long term survival.   The revenue sources that WGT for the base platform (balls, clubs, club fees, etc..) perhaps do pay for the baseline product.

Wanting extensions to the product (new courses) would also warrant additional fees - I am not opposed to paying for outside developed courses.  However, they should meet certain quality standards (photo realistic graphics vs. computer generated landscapes) and the price point has to be right.

Where as the TruGolf courses may indeed be enjoyable, paying 100 credits for 9 holes isn't going to happen.  If we were talking 20 or 25, perhaps... but at 100, no need to even think about it.

    Summary: Revisit the pricing policy.

Hof - Your take is on target. As this is an optonal play it will provide revenue for WGT which hopefully they will re-invest to a degree in further development of the real courses. I think they are testing the waters with the 100 credit entry and I would not be too suprised that this is lowered at some future date to 25 +/- when they discover the play level is low.

I played the front 9 today and found the hole layouts very interesting.   Sure is different than the courses we have now.

What I did not like was the 100 credits green fee.

I agree, and hope WGT comes to their senses and lowers the fee.

I say lowering the price to $0.00 would be acceptable.... Oh, OK, maybe 10 credits per 18 holes.

Is it 100 credits to unlock and play as many times as you like? your do you pay 100 credits every time you tee off?

Each and every time you tee off.  9 holes 100 credits.. 18 holes 150 credits.

And, the best part... if the game freezes up you lose your money.

    Yay!

the TruGolf courses (judging from the one currently online) are not remotely up to WGT standards, which have always upheld a unique combination of great physics AND superior graphics. This unique combination is precisely what keeps me -- and a horde of other members like me -- coming back, while avoiding the likes of Shot, and even TWO, whose graphics range haphazardly from good to mediocre, if not bad.

Great physics without superior graphics ARE NOT ENOUGH to sustain my interest, or the interest of those who have chosen WGT in preference to lesser competitors because until now the former has not been on the slippery slope of cheap compromises. Without superior graphics, great physics are comparable to an ugly woman with a charming personality. She's not welcome in my bed, her redeeming attributes notwithstanding.
