Has anyone seen this before? Watch my replay!!!!

Thought i'd got my first hole in 1, the ball actually landed directly in the hole but then disapperaed over the horizon (296 yards to be precise) at an amazing rate ok knots!!!

What happened? Can anyone shed some light on this?

I look forward to hearing from you

Wow that's quite a replay! Similar things have happened to me on that course but at different holes. From judging that the shot was going downhill and everything it looks like you a 1 in a million shot. It simply hit the flagstick it looks like. From where the ball was I don't think it was possible that it could land in the hole and plop out like that. hope this helps!

Well, that is a FIRST for me!  I watched it the first time with no sound, and thought you hit the bottom of the flag (I have done that a few times).  But with the sound on, you actually hear the sound of the ball dropping in the cup- followed immediately by the sound of the ball hitting the green.  Obviously you even fooled the game into thinking the ball was in the hole!!  Curious myself as to what others think.  wgticon, are you out there?!?!?  -CM

Wow ...a 296 yard 8 iron.... very impressive..

Actually, someone else did the exact same thing on the same hole a few months ago...I think he posted the replay in this thread a ways back...

There have been lots of replays of this happening, but this is the most impressive one yet. It has been claimed that a ricochet off the hole/flag is possible in real life, but even if, it defies the laws of physics for the rebound to go much farther than the original shot.

I was always curious, was the flagstick in the hole? Is that crucial to this happening? My normal practice is to always remove the stick on approach shots because if the ball ever wanted to go in, it seems to me it would improve the chances if the stick were gone. Thoughts?

I usually yank the flag when I inside 130 yds...I watched the match between BNB and AvLee, and those guys seemed to be pulling the flag quite often..

If they are doing it, it's good enough for me..

My eagles are still few and far between, but this was too good not to share. Congressional #14, from 211 yards out. I use the Ping G15 hybrid, it hits the fringe, then rolls up and dribbles right in like there was a magnet in the cup. I squealed.
