  I guess the guys at WGT head office must be scratching their heads wondering about mixed messages

  No mixed message from me . I'd sent an email to CS yesterday and the reply was prompt , non automated, and in the same tone as my query:

   

  C'mon folks,

  Where's the lurrrrrv???

  No freebie Valentine Ball this year to show how much, deep down, you love us poor members?

  Roses are red

  Violets are blue

  If you ain't got the balls

  That's a real shame on you.

  And the reply:

  On reading this thread I immediately went to my inventory and found my Valentines gift, thank you WGT.

  On a more serious note, this thread should be commended for for it's message to players.  

  We should all thoroughly examine our balls on a regular basis.

  I'm pretty sure the course specific ones are sometimes given automatically upon entering certain tournaments (WGT Tour?/CTTH events? ) on the game client. I've noticed them appear after signing up for one from time to time.

  Entering tournies, got a Merion ball recently for entering the Merion open

  Yes , totally agree, examine balls regularly, or possibly even get a friend to help (gender of your own choice)  :)
