I play this game for FUN. The Club clashes are not enjoyable and only produce frustration because the putting meter is not accurate to the green speed comparative to regular play. Hitting the ball what should be the accurate measure sends it flying past the hole. Not even worth signing up to play them anymore if the meter can't be relied on.
It's not only in the clashes that the putting scale is elevated by default for shots from the fringe.
