    Premed:
But my intrigue is really that a club, which presumably has a religious ethos, would limit membership to individuals who are ""saved"", when the majority of actual real life churches are in the business of saving the wayward.

Your first post was clear but incorrect. As I noted, the club does not limit members to those who are "saved." He clearly states that it's open to both "saved" and "seekers." Maybe you're simply unfamiliar with the terminology. But in this context, a "seeker" is someone who does not claim to be saved but is seeking more information.

In any case, in a subsequent post, Scott clarified that membership is not limited.

+1 @ Premed Although the church is in the so called business of saving the wayward as you put it . All churches require that before a person can be accepted as a member they must first be saved  or believe in the same doctrine of teaching.

But as I stated in an earlier post if recruitment was based on gender or ethnicity none of you would have a problem with it nor would you have anything to say about it . Back when I was looking for a club to join this one was full but I would have joined it  if I could have .

@ CD Good luck with your club and dont let the nay sayers cause you to be swayed or alter your stance . Run your club and remember why its here . Let it continue to be  a shelter in the time of the storm .

As a former member of IHGN, I am compelled to comment on this topic. IHGN was the first of 2 CC's that I have joined since starting to play on WGT. IHGN and its members were as friendly and supportive as any that I know in WGT.  At that time, the members were helpful to me as I learned this game.  But much more, for me. This group was supportive and encouraging outside of this game, when I needed the support and encouragment personally. I know Scott and wish him well as the new CC owner.

The only reason that I left IHGN was because I was looking for a more competitive environment at the time. It was a hard decision to leave.

Hang in there Scott. God's blessings on you and your members.

As per earlier post, let it drop please.

Religion has tarnished other threads, along with racism and sexism and alsorts of other isms.

Some may say he started it with the saved part, well its done now and i dont think harm was meant.......in fact i dont think, i know.

Interesting regarding Civil war, something, even though im British, interests me a lot.

Read various books about it and watch a lot of documentries on it, fascinating to me.

Sorry ive posted on your advert by the way, poss start a new one and let this one go.

    Interesting regarding Civil war,

+1 and good to know the whys of your chosen handle......but again, this is why WGT should be able to change names.

Many are poorly chosen, perhaps they did not intend to stay.....many reasons but if I had chosen....

Marygavemetheclap.......just because she clapped when I was busking for example........

As I said, whatever club someone belongs, there needs to be a common bond so players can become friends. To me it makes no difference what that bond is, if that is the common bond, then that is great.

Good luck with the club....there is deadwood too, like most clubs, so the success is up to you.

Bubb, you might be surprised to know there is a fair number of CW reenactors from the UK. I met a few Brits many years ago at a reenactment in the eastern US. They said they have a few US Civil War reenactments in the UK.

    Just my. 02
