    Seekerb:

2 of us my self and stevebye15 are getting no response from our opponents.  Good way for them to get a half in the way that you have it set up.  Teedoff50 has accepted my friend invite but stevebye's opponent has rejected friend invite

To be clear, a game declared unfinished does not earn each team a half of a win. Both teams get no points as they did not finish a game (a finished game must have a team with at least 3 points). The other team cannot earn themselves a half by avoiding playing against you. I know that this hurts your team as well, but this is the least bad option when a team does not fully participate.

We have tried entertaining requests for forfeits if opponents were unresponsive in the past and, to be honest, it took all the fun out of the league as things do descend into he-said/he-said down into the occasional flame-war.

NB The current standings are "as it stands". On Monday, the standings will not include games that did not finish, but your individual matches will still be included in the "individual ranking" for those who did play.

As for myself, my opponent is not responding (hasn't been active on WGT since last sunday) I contacted his CC owner for a potential substitute but also no responde. Reading this I should just let it shoot by and focus on Week 2? Or do I have to report somewhere the match wasn't played?

You don't have to report anything... I would try and contact one of the players from the club who have played a match in the league instead of the owner, they might be more helpful in resolving things.

There is a link at the top of the form, but here you go... either

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-2 or

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-3 or

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOC_code can be matched in the programme. Also, UK nations can be used if desired - ENG, SCO, WLS, or NIR.

I have so far been unsuccessful at appending these codes to each player in the database (there is a line for "country"), but I'm still trying!

It's still not working, so I'm no longer asking.

Hi Slor .. not for nothing .. this is why we haven't been participating in your league after season 1.  It becomes more and more work.   Does anyone really care about the participating country ?     Our team sure doesn't ... I know it's cute but ... now we have to look up country codes for each player .. it's nuts.      I don't think that many people really care.

I was being a bit overenthusiastic there... always good to have some straight-talking to get me to my senses on the little things that can annoy the members.

Well I have to admit, since the database isn't joining it despite my efforts, there's no reason to ask.

    Dropped from the form.

Cool. Quick reminders and website updated...

Round 1 Results deadline tomorrow at 11:59pm WGT (US Pacific) time. Remember that your game will not be counted unless a team has bagged 3 points.

Round 2 Lineups deadline Monday at 11:59pm WGT time

Round 2 Draw will take place shortly afterwards. If you do not submit a lineup, you will not be in the draw (even if I have indicated that you are likely to receive a bye as we well could have an even number of teams in the draw in the end. On past experience 5-10% of teams who sign up don't show up to play so expect some change to the published draw when these teams are dropped.)

whats the sense of having this rule..underlined above...is this a team event or an individual event....after numerous ,,messages and reminders ...an opponent doesnt respond...and the club owner or captain should have found a replacement by now....worse still and rude is telling  ure opponent to play tomorrow  but you dont show up

a player waits and waits till the last moment till the last day till the last hour...and the whole team suffers....the orgainsers could have done something on this rule rather than make people frustated.....the time used could have been better utilised rather than waiting....and keep loggin in to check ....i give up...throws in my towel...shakes head....

sorry if i hurt anyone...but i didnt mean it just my frustation...
