The specs. on a ball ( spin, distance.) Where do they get this information from?

Are they some what real , or are they just made up for this game?

Reason I ask is why don't the Cally balls have specs closer to the Nike balls ?

Just made up and not based off of any RL metrics...I think they assign them this way and then choose a price point...

Thanks for the replies, but for the sake of me, I can't understand why someone from WGT won't answer this very simple question. What the big secret ? I am just trying to see if they can change the specs on the Cally ball to supplement the Nike when they finally go.

Theres another can of worms, how can u pull the Nike clubs, and not the balls? They both carry the Nike name.

Contractual Agreement! I'm quite sure that WGT had or has the right to sell far more balls than clubs or sets of clubs. Just as Nike has made more balls than clubs or sets of clubs. Enjoy the ride and when they're gone there gone.

Your points are very valid.  Sadly WGT seldom if ever talks about that type of thing.  It would be reasonable to think they can re-brand the Nike balls as something else.  I just leveled up to L97 and had a 2 hour free rental on the Callaway Steelhead XR Iron Set.  They seemed to play exactly the same as  the Nike Vapor Pro Fly L97 (reduced to L92) Irons., except for the slightly slower meter speed.  I used my Pro Fly mapping figures and had no trouble figuring out my shots with the Callys.

Playing rounds with the Callys makes me think they have some type of master equipment and ball files with adjustable specs that they can use to create different items.  Pictures of the items IRL could be scanned into the system to allow a visual representation in the Pro Shop.

Perhaps the delay in the Nike balls being removed is related to them hoping to get another equipment brand to step up and allow licensing of their products.

As far as when the balls and clubs had to be removed from the Pro Shop, it could be there were different removal dates specified in the agreement with Nike.

IMO, this is it. I half expect Bridgestone to show up to replace them. IDK if Callaway makes a ball as good as the Nike, though. (Have to ask Hpurey.)

I played both of them out of curiosity a couple of summers ago and found a definite difference in the two. I fixed more ball marks on greens with the Nike but found it easier to stay in the fairway with the Callaway.

And that's one of the major downfalls of this game, putting so much weight on the type/brand you buy. Basically just revenue weighted and nothing more. They, well and lots of people here, like to go on as to how realistic the game is... Really?

I can take range balls and play them with my clubs almost as well as I can with the 'good ones' I might be using, I like Titleist myself, doesn't really matter which ones, there's not a huge difference in them all.

Ball striking makes the most difference on how your game plays, far more in real life than on here. My CG 15's are great, love 'em... But if I don't hit the ball decently, may as well be using a hockey stick.

WGT can turn any ball in the game into a 92 Nike ball...

I don't think you'll see any other gear sponsorships happening here. WGT/TG doesn't seem to realize that industry people probably play this game, are aware of the marketing and community of players and what goes on, how things are with it.

Given the direction and how things are moving with this game - Would you want your brand associated with this game here? I think not....  It's not even about the actual game, it's about how it's being marketed, managed and presented to players.

Well that went a little off track... sorry about that. Still bit pissed about WGT not allowing me to rent and then buy the R1 upon hitting L98, but with the way it's going here, not surprised.

Well heres something to scratch your head about, in 2016 Callaway balls were rated better than Nike, but yet here the  Nike ball  is king

I've played both in real life and not that I'm the greatest player, nor the highest swing speed player, but they both weren't much different to one another.  I've had guys on my golf league play the yelloways that play Pro V's only and didn't lose any distance or spin.  They just weren't into the yellow LOL.

I'm looking forward to this season and trying the Chrome Soft-X.   Or at least the new and improved 4 piece chrome soft (2016 version) to compare it to the original 3 piece chrome soft from 2015 version.
