with longer yardages from the tips and wicked fast greens...why is there not a Legend equivalent to the Tour-SD? that ball is (IMO) a great way to tune your game with its 2 D 2 S 1.5 Dur and 0 M ratings...IF you can handle the meter of course.

so if you are like me and managed to progress to Legend level using that Tour-SD ball, you now find yourself stuck in a weird spot.  Those specs are decent and usable, but even just 1 extra dot of spin and distance would help tremendously while not have to alter one's game by slowing down the meter (ie: Legend gi-sd balls).  my proposal would not infringe upon the high level Callaway or Nike balls with their premium spin and distance specs, but rather fill the niche for players that are used to a specific meter but essentially require a little extra boost to remain competitive.  to me it does not make sense to have to, essentially, re-learn the game by, IMO, being forced to buy balls with "feel" that slow down the meter.

    Legend Tour-SD

Spin 3  Distance 3  Durability 1.5 (the 110 approx hits version of 1.5)  and  0 Meter

since the original Tour-SD are 65 cr for a sleeve, I would have no issue paying around 90 cr for the enhanced version.

I have no doubt that these would sell like hotcakes for a lot of new Legends, and allow a better transition into the more premium balls for tournament play.  thank you for the consideration

Yes the Tour SD is a great ball and plays very well but now that you have reached Legend the game is about to change . The greens are about to get faster again and you are going to need more spin to hold the greens . When you start playing Oakmont Pinehurst  and Chambers Bay to name a few you will want a ball with more bite . Try the Srixon 11 ball even though you dont want a ball with feel it will be aball you will need .

You are going to have to relearn the game every time you move back on the tees . From the tips you will play your long irons more . You will also have to relearn course management again as well . Adjusting to a new meter speed is not that hard or bad to do especially when you want to post better scores . By the time its over you will be playing with L33+ Cally or better that is if you plan on winning . I would really suggest the 33+ Cally because as you make the neede adjustments it will come into the game anyway .

Every idea most players post about they swear will make WGT a ton of money but it wont . You can believe that WGT knows how to maximize a dollar more than you . Try the 2 balls I suggested and you will see that either one of them will help you better than the Tour SD .

oh I 100% agree with you lonnie!  more bite and a little extra off the tee wouldn't be a luxury, they are a necessity.  I have played with the balls you have suggested, and they are perfectly fine.  there are a ton of players that swear by either or.

my suggestion is based a little on my real life golf game I suppose.  tempo and consistency are keys swinging a real club, regardless of the ball on the ground...so I don't understand why there isn't a least 1 ball option that allows for my virtual swing to keep the same tempo (in this case, 0 added to the meter)

by being "forced" to use a ball that slows down my swing speed (meter speed), I miss the ding way more frequently.  the Tour-SD is nice and smooth and just quick enough for the way I play the game.  Like I said, it basically got me where I am today.

would you tell an actual tour pro that he MUST forget everything he learned in Q-school or amateur tour and years of training and swing his clubs slower if he wants to compete on the PGA Tour?  sounds crazy right?  that is essentially my point of the Legend Tour-SD ball.  to allow people the options to swing with a faster meter if they so desire.  and if you think about it...in real life, a faster swing equals more spin anyway!

haha I had forgotten about this post. my feelings still stand, even after using the L33 Cally for months. it is silly that a 0 meter ball with 3+ spin and distance still doesn't exist. make it, and I will pay credits to beta test a few sleeves! ;-p but hey, at least we have martini glass tee box markers and apparel that you can almost never use (at least on mobile in anything competitive)!

I'm with you on the meter speed. I used that Tour-SD for a long time, mostly because of the meter speed. As it is, I use the fastest meter Nike there is but it's still a 3.0. I would love to see a premium ball with 0 meter speed but gave up asking about it a long time ago. Ain't happening and no clue why.  :-(

    OMS.....or Old Man Syndrome.......

Yes, old and decrepit but still thinks and pretends he is 25 still................. I have witnessed his game using a 3.0 ball....and I would shudder if I was his partner if he used a zero meter ball :)

I assume WGT never introduced a higher spec ball with a zero meter speed as the demand would be low, as not everyone has the lightening fast reflexes of a cat.

But I admit, there is a market, albeit small.

    Quite the opposite.

It doesn't take lightning fast reflexes at all and is quite easy to get in a decent groove. There's also less time for that meter to do its thing. (In fact, the earliest meter skipping issues started cropping up when the slower meter GI-SD ball was introduced.)

Count on that not happening. I prefer fly boys that know what lightning is.

A ''true'' Legend+ should play with starter balls  :)

LMFAO....oops, that is a faux pas of pelvic proportions lol

As a rule......one avoids lightning, primarily for comfort rather than dangers.

But I can safely say, it is safe to play WGT when there is lightning in the vicinity.....if there is lightening around when playing....call the midwife.

I enjoy the challenge of playing with the white rock on occasion. It is also fun to put starter clubs in my bag and do a practice round from the shorter tees. Always looked forward to those special tournaments using starter clubs and the white rocks as they tested ability and not equipment on a truly level playing field.

Moving up in tier does mean adjustments in game play. Having to purchase equipment that can drive whatever ball one buys the greater distances needed to reach holes means watching meter speeds. So  a ball with 0 for  meter speed is chosen. How do you deal with a different driver or iron meter speed than what you have been playing? This game is about learning to adjust, then adjust again, and again. Wind, green speeds, rough all call for adjustments. Given the attributes of the balls available, pick one and play it exclusively until WGT either drops that ball or brings in Titleist balls.
