Not referring to the flatulance variety ......

Anyone got any thoughts / tips on adjusting yardage for wind speed.

Generally I allow 1 yard for each mile of wind, so if the shot is straight into a head wind of say 5mph I add on an extra 5 yards to my shot...this is a very simplistic but seems to work reasonably well

I just hit a 125 nine iron into a 10 mph wind and didn't even hit it full and it went 122 yards on the fly, what gives with these inconsistencies?

generally i add 1 yd distance for 3 mph headwind , or minus for 1 yd per 3mph tail wind, then of course theres the in between for side winds , seems to work ok ish for me & Charlie apparently

Add "on a nominal length of 200 yds" and it's just perfect.

    Examples with 5 mph headwind:

    200 distance + 5 for wind = 205

    100 distance + 5/2 for wind = 102.5 - 105 would be too much IMHO.

Isn't that something all of us humans could do on a real golf course but you can't accept in an on-line golf game???

This game needs to be more realistic scoring-wise.  The best on here should average no better than the best of the pros.

    More to follow.

Clubs, balls and spin applied makes a huge difference...i/e starter clubs and starter balls, full spin has less effect on the shot than an R11 with a Nike.

1 yard for one player maybe be 3 yards for another.

    WHAT!!!!!!!!

Come on mate, last time looked at any leaderboard on the PGA tour the pros were often 18 to 20 under.

EDIT LOL: OH those leaderboard were for four rounds.

So ok you may have a minor point - I eagerly await the more to follow.

Club trajectory (short irons have higher trajectory, longer - lower), spin, wind direction, club selection will all have an effect on wind variation.

The only option is to pay attention in detail to your calculation, your swing and the results, take notes and soon it becomes very easy to judge.

Well today I had a 13 mph cross wind that did not affect my drive at all, I dinged it and it went exactly where I had aimed it.  Next shot the wind took it way left, I'm ready to give up again.

And the greens, oh my, dots barely crawling slightly right, I compensate slighty and the ball rolls way right.  These cost me 2 birdies, plus 2 shots that went nowhere at all, 2 wasted strokes.

WGT is up to their old ways, I'm not long for this game.  When I signed in and got my free balls all the shots seemed perfect, now everything is a mess again, is it fixed or what?
