Ok I have read to exhaustion the postings about the meter stutter and have found that the best way to minimize the problem is to bring the club back and wait a beat or two to let the background stuff quiet down. This along with cleaning up cache in windows and your flash memory will help also. If I am starting an important tourney I will re-boot the pc to get things clicking along smoothly also. Now this does not in any way defer my feeling that the game could be made better but if it isn't clear to anyone yet, that isn't going to happen. It could be a money problem or simply that the game was developed on a substandard platform and it would require some eating crow to change it. Knowing the California mentality very well it ain't gonna happen (ie: it's not their fault, it's your fault for thinking the programming will actually work). Now to another problem, disconnects. In the last three weeks I have not played one alt or stroke game that one of the players had to disconnect and then try to rejoin in order to finish the game. This is getting worse WGT, not better. I see the game was tweaked last night but no mention of what they messed with but I just tried to play my first stroke play game today and the 3 of us made it to the second shot on the first hole when it locked up and we were done, no rejoining or reconnecting just done.
It seems the more that is added to the game the more things don't work so i am back to Xbox, Wii, and other platforms that actually do what they were advertised to do.
One mention in WGT's favor, I cannot begin to imagine what kind of programming nightmare this game must be to make a little white ball act accordingly to the flow of air complicated by the spin applied and the force induced at the strike of the ball. Also reacting correctly to the contours of the lay of the land in all the different possibilities available on any given golf course. A very daunting challenge I would think.
I hope some of these problems will eventually be fixed but it seems they don't have a clue as to how a fix could be implemented or it would be done already.
