There should be a function to cancel already-sent gifts!

OK so my story goes like this.

A guy joined earlier today my country club as it is currently recruiting members. Since my club has not reached level 4, the shot pal function is not available yet so I sent it to the guy as a membership gift. And then, right after receiving it, he just left!! No explanation, no excuses, no words, nothing... he just took off!! It's not like it cost me a fortune, but that's not the point, his thoughtless act was enough to ruin my feeling.

I know there is no way right now to cancel a gift which is already sent and I strongly believe there should be! It doesn't make sense that it is irreversible considering typos, mistakes, dine-and-dash (like my case), etc...

What a shameful experience in this wonderful WGT land... :-(

Best way to handle that until you reach the proper club level is through a probation period . Do your welcome to the club introduction first and then wait for a reply . If they dont try to introduce themselves to the club or reply back to you dont gift it . Also dont even offer this gift as a reason to join if you are doing so stop because this is the type of person you will draw to your club .

The problem with this type of gifting is that you aredoing so with intention . When buying for yourself you may make a mistake in pruchasing a level based item as opposed to a non level based item . You enter the persons profile name tier level and even a message if desired , before gifting . Also a person may be gifted but fails to respond back with a thank you  to the person who sent it , so they decide to take it back .

Making a purchase in error is one thing but being taken advantage of from gifting is another . I understand your point but WGT isnt going to want that headache .

Thanks for the tip, Scott. I guess you're right and I will manage my club accordingly.

It is just frustrating, though, when you feel like this is what you get from trusting people.

Yeah I know my friend we always look for the best in people but sometimes we find the worst . Thats just the way it is sometimes but in spite of it we will still trust and look for the best . Glad I could help and point you in a better direction . Good luck with your club and hope you have great success with it . :-)

Good advice by Lonnie, and yes some of us try to see the good side of people than the darker side.

I have in the past sent gifts, and that has been my choice, some have said thanks, many do not.

Human decency, morals and good people seem to be on the decline, but do not let ot bother you, as some people are not worth a second thought.

For WGT, of course they would not use programmers time to implement something that would reduce sales.......

As for the person in question......see if you can get him a one way ticket to the North from your border......
