How many country clubs are there on WGT?

  I asked the help desk and received this reply....

  Thank you for your message. I do not have a current count on how many Country Clubs exist at this time on WGT, but it is quite a lot.

  I then asked again

   

  Surely there must be a way of estimating the number of clubs as well as players...!!

   

  I am trying to settle an argument within the club over the point of playing country club clashes and the fact that our club came 89th in the last clash. Now that is good going if there are 10,000 clubs but not so exciting if there are only 500....

  and received this reply

   

  Unfortunately, there is no way to tell exactly how many Country Clubs have been created on WGT as there is no statistic tracking them as anyone can create one with 50 Credits. We apologize for any inconvenience, however I can assure you that 500 is an extremely low number.

  I would agree that 500 Country Clubs is an extremely low number.

  However, an awful lot of the clubs listed are totally inactive, so they should not be included in your argument.

  Its probably in the tens of thousands , However there are a lot of dead clubs or inactive clubs , So the true number of active clubs is probably less than 500 .   Just a guess ,

  I've heard 22 million claimed users and 60,000 claimed teams but next to impossible to find a game

  Out of curiosity I checked  our CC position in a recent Clash, we finished 5,583, which I find amazing......I doubt if few finished lower, but still means an awful lot of "active" Clubs..

  Four years ago WGTIcon replied to a similar post and did give a number. 

  He stated that WGT had in excess of 44,000 Country Clubs.

  In those 4 years I am quite confident that a good 30,000 more have been created.

  Of course most of them a 1 member CCs with an owner who has not played in 2 years....

  Thanks for that Antwilliam - that certainly gives us a base figure.....

  I still find it strange that the WGT bods cannot give an exact figure even if it was only for the number of clubs participating in each clash!

  More Clubs are created daily. I think that is the reason, the WGT Administrators could not be in a position to give accurate number. But with my good guess including inactive Clubs, there should be more than 30000 Clubs by now. This gives me a consolation, that our Club did best if we are in the top 500.
