MainzMan: ~snip~ But having no 64° option makes these wedges a really big waste of online space for me. If they'd offered a 56°, 60° and 64° that hit 100, 75 and 50 yards then I might just have swallowed the bitter pill and sunk another 6k into the game.
The stats look tempting but the distances make zero sense.
These new Callaway Mack Daddy wedges exist higher loft at shorter distances, therefore, an 64Degree wedge is theoretically not needed.
Furthermore, they are forged, thus giving more distance and precision. There is an extra grove at the bottom of the face to aid in lining up chips and pitches with more precision and stopping power with the new 16-groove design.
The Mack Daddy Forged comes in an range of 6 lofts: 50D, 52D, 54D,56D, 58D, and 60D with only one bounce option per loft, which is unusual, however, the versatility of the C grind sole allows skilled players to get all the shots they want.
And finally, the Mack Daddy Forged have less offset, squarer toes, and straighter leading edges, which makes it more of an precision tool with an touch less forgiveness. These are versatile clubs, expect more spin at higher lofts.
