since they are alluded to in the WGT pinned thread, I have a question for those that have been around for other wedge additions to the pro shop:

do you think these are going to replace the 2.0 that are in there already or are they going to be a whole new tier (akin to the new mack daddy line)?

I ask because I am 99% sure that I read somewhere in the past that the new (at the time) wedges were more of a money grab vs actual benefit for us players...and I am strongly considering grabbing the suite of top Cleves sooner rather than later.

what are your veteran opinions on this?

I doubt it . The new RTX 3 wedges are better than the new Mac Daddy wedges in my opinion . The reason is because the RTX wedges have the same wedge degrees as the 2.0 wedges . WGT will probably if added only do a graphics change with the 2.0 wedges . But if they should add the new RTX 3 wedges and tweak the specs to improve them I would more than likely buy them .

If you buy the current RTX 2 wedges L76 78 and 80 you wont need the new Mac Daddy wedges . The Mac Daddy wedges dont have a 64 degree wedge which is the problem with them . The 64 full goes 60 yds and punches 50 yds and is a must have club in your bag . Sure you can mix match them with the Macs but why do that when the RTX are all the same meter speed .

So yeah I feel that the new wedges are nothing but a money grab and they really dont have any benefit for the top higher level players . The majority of which already have the top level RTX wedges . The new Macs are nothing but eye candy ..

perfect! just the type of opinion I was looking for.  I figured that if the current top level 2.0 is good enough for like 98% of the top tier players, I should be a-ok with them for quite some time (or ever?).   The 100 - 80 - 60 split would be the way I went of course.  the 115 doesn't make sense when my PW covers that pretty nicely already.

I got used to, and have done pretty well with, the mid level MAX Spin 90 and 60 (that punched 75 and 50) to this point, but I am hoping the improved accuracy rating will result in a more consistent approach

Do it. Even if something new does show up, the difference is going to be negligible.  :-)
