Tournament play

  Who out there would like to see a virtual tournament played like a pga event?  You enter tournament by Wednesday night by midnight or until all spots are full.  Field set at 150 golfers cut at 75 and ties.   Thursday Friday you have 24 hours to play your round.  If your round is not completed as in regular golf you are dq. Cut is made at midnight Friday.   Same rules apply saturday and sunday. 24 hours to complete or dq. Entry fee set at maybe 50 tokens. Every one plays same tees. would love to see entries based on average score not how far you have advanced in game. Everyone round you play on regulation golf course would be used to get your average score.  Par 3 rounds and par 5 rounds excluded. I sick and tired of getting sandbagged. Let the top end guys compete against themselves.   Basically I want to play in a tournament where I actually have a chance to win something. I want to play against people of same skill set.  Thoughts?

  In two months you will have completed 10 years of playing WGT. I believe your skill set is one of a kind, you would have a hard time finding 149 more players like yourself.

  You know what ahole? Its people like you on here why I get so frustrated.  I asked a simple question. Yes I bitched a bit. Like you said almost 10 years on here.  Im one of the original people who signed up on here.  My frustration is with the fact this game should a 100 times better than it is. I saw the potential 10 years ago but feel this game has not advanced as it should have. I have expressed my concerns to the powers that be at WGT.  This game is to concerned with things that have nothing to do with golf.  I have asked repeatedly for them to change to a handicap time system so I might be able to compete in tournaments were I could possibly win something.  As it stands right now im discouraged by the fact that like you say ive been playing this game for almost 10 years. I have reached the level of play where most times my best round might be a couple over par.  No matter how much I play I will not see under par. In 10 years I think I hsve shot under par maybe 3 times.  I wish WGT would start listening to actual users of this game to further enhance the experience of this fine but flawed game.  Time to put out a survey and ask user about the issues of this game.  After all they are asking us to pay them in order to get better.  Im sure I could advance my skills a bit buy purchasing over priced equipment.   I refuse to give another nickle to WGT until the issues with this game are fixed.  I love playing this game.  It is the best game out there.  Im sure I cannot even begin to imagine the cost involved to produce even one course on here.  The scoring issues just leave me frustrated.  All im asking for is tournsment play to be designed so I actually could play in a tournament where a possibility of winning might become a reality.

  Excuse me, the issue isn't the game. I'm afraid that it's the player.

  Also, the game won't change to your liking after ten years!

  The game follows the common principle of online games, "FTP - PTW". Thus, success is correlated to investment - pling, pling.

  You chose a different path which is o.k., and you are very consistent, being around for 10 years. Kudos to that!

  But, methinks that you might have advanced a tad more in 1,000 rounds - still I've no right to judge on you. Anyway, I'd like to see how you come around a round, if there are any traps that you might experience more than others... You are invited to ask if you wish.

  But2, becoming better would mean to advance to Master tier, and the longer tees there might force you to buy better equipment. Your decision!

  I would play tournaments structured like that for sure.  The only thing I'd change is more time to complete each round.  24 hours is not enough time between rounds.  48 might be.  I don't like the way major tournaments are unlimited for 3 weeks and only single play for the last round.  It's dumb, but I understand it's WGT's business model.  Gotta sell them balls.

  The average score thing would be difficult I'd imagine.  There'd have to be a range of averages allowed to play in certain tourney's and how would you define them?  The current tiered way of doing tourney's seems to work better there IMO.

  With that said, you can play against other Tour Pro's already, but I'd gather you already know that.

  Ignore the tools who can't simply respond to your question / idea and would rather check out your profile 1st so they can take the usual pot shots instead.

  Hey chump let me guess your very good at this game.  You probably shoot some of these ridiculously low scores. I often wonder if people cheat to obtain these scores.   This game is not simple.  I have tried renting some better equipment snd have found little to no difference.   Almost 10 years I have been playing this game and have tried many things to try to improve.   I do enjoy the look and play of this game it is simply the best out there.  Im just looking for a more competitive experience.  It is not fun being grouped with players at a similar level in the game as myself,  but somehow pull off like a 59 on pebble.  I could plsy this game every day, every hour for the rest of my life with the best equipment.   Just dont see myself ever shoot subpar scores.   I just want to know if I enter a tournament if I play well I may win something. That is all im asking for.  Every time I enter a tournament and look at the posted top score I know before I even tee off I will not ever get close to being able to come close to that score.   That is why I suggested in the first plsce 4 day tournaments  I want players to show me they can get these results over four rounds, im sure that they can.  I want a true virtual tour just like the pros. That is why I suggested thurs through sunday. There could be one every week.  Im sure other players feel my frustration.  Maybe they dont want to spend alot of money buying fancy clubs and balls.   Maybe they aren't very good at the game.  Maybe they don't have the time to put in to get to that elite level. I just want competive tournaments based a players skill level. Not there advancement level.  If I played Dustin Johnson right now at his peak I'm not going to play him straught up. That woukd be silly and not much fun.  im  gonna need like at keast 30 strokes to make it competitive.  All I want are competitive tournaments for the many of us that are not elite level players ok

  Thanks for your input.  I appreciate it.  My tournament suggestion of Thurs to Sunday and 24 hours is to get a feel of what it is actually like to compete at the highest level.  The feeling of sleeping on a lead.  The pressure of a Sunday back nine.  Only in s virtual setting. I do wish for tournaments was a leader board. Pops up after your round shows you where you stand. Right now they only list the top scores. I would like to know am I 1000th 2000th just something that says hey you finished here out of this many competitors.   Id like to see more single try tournaments not giving you like a couple hundred trys against the sane pins. They dont change the pins only the wind changes, By the way on a links style course if you go out down wind , you should come back into the wind. Should not be random by hole,  Sorry about my rambling dude.   I can just see so much potential witn this game that it is not being utilized to its fullest.  You cant even buy a different colored shirt fot your avatar. Is this a virtual world of clones.
