Why is that? Just because it's a links style course doesn't mean high winds are automatic. All of the other links courses here are next to oceans where windy conditions are common. Not so with EH, it's pretty much landlocked.
Unless there's some weather event, I doubt winds are going to be a real concern for the real thing. WGT will probably just use them to make life difficult. :-)
Its just that they usually do have a higher ceiling in terms of wind speed mainly due to lack of tree line. EH will max out at Bethpage level.
For the real thing, the main defense would be the run off areas as there really isnt much danger elsewhere. That obviously would be a non-factor here as the fairways don't run much as I said before.
Hopefully, they would have some US Open rough unlike over here.
