When we lost Oakmont, we lost one of the courses that had multiple pin positions

How about at least giving us new pins at Pinehurst, RSG, Olympic, Chambers, and Pebble? Even use the CTTH pins if you must

    Yep.

The thought that they went out and took all those photos but forgot a second or third set of pins makes me shudder.

    Surely the didn't.

    Did they?

I reckon there are two ways WGT could compensate for the shock-horror loss of Oakmont - and having double pins for every hole/course is certainly one of them.... (there are no multiple pins - only double pins - and the mixture between them depends on the easy/medium and hard setting).

The other way would be to make Cabo and Whistler free and available for CCs.

Those two things might go some small way to compensate for losing Oakmont and the manner of its loss (i.e. overnight, with no warning).

But will WGT oblige? A rhetorical question.....

I did manage to get a semi-confirmation once that double pins are available for RSG - and I would presume, in theory, for the later courses too. Strange that Merion got the early honour of double pins.

When we where asked to design new courses it was always on the cards that 3 courses would not be available to play; Cabo; Whistler; Oakmont; perhaps the way forward is team events of all tiers CC  v CC  (not clash, a great idea wasted) like what Finny and his club SEL have brilliantly put together., and well said RYJA.
